"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.

Why does my girlfriend always text me

She texts me before she goes to work, at work, when she's off, what she's doing, all the damn time and the majority of the time it's senseless garbage. I ignore at least one or two of her texts every single day yet she still manages to send another one to me asking "what are you doing" or something non-conversational. And yet when I do reply she replies with something short. I don't honestly understand it. Earlier I text her telling her I was going to fvck her brains out tomorrow when she comes to see me and all she says is "lol oooookay". Didn't reply to that sh!t. It's almost like she's trying to text me to see if I'm there for her every waking moment but doesn't want to put any quality conversation into anything.

Also, our conversations in person are always on point. The texting is just weightless 80% of the time

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

Don't get used to it. She will withdraw it once her IL drops. Don't let it feed your ego.

DON'T F'N TEXT "GAME" HER. It doesn't fvcking work, and makes you just like the white knight orbiters who never leave her alone.

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

That's part of it. She may also just be naturally needy. Some girls need that constant safety of being in constant contact with their bf, like a kid needs to know that their parents are around somewhere close by.

Take your time texting back. Use one word replies as well. "Train" her to realize that you don't have your phone attached to your hip like she does, but you're still 'there'.

Yep. And if you play along and spoil her, get her used to you always being there, if you don't keep it up she'll look elsewhere for that constant attention fix.

People get used to things.

In your case, you'd either get used to her hitting you up all the time

or

In your case, she'd get used to hitting you up here and there.

Right now, respond here and there but I wouldnt necessarily tell her to control her interest level. Try seeing her more often and gauge if the texting reduces.

She wants to raise your IL to hers then she'd drop hers and fcuk your head up.

If she does bring up why you dont respond as much then you can hit her with . . .

This is why I tell women, on date #1, that I'm not a "phone person" - so that when they over-text/over-call me and I don't respond right away, I can always refer to what I told them on date #1: that I'm not a "phone person." Once a woman becomes my girlfriend I have found the calls/text do tend to go up at first (which is natural). Understand: they're doing it because they have a DESIRE to see/hear from you... BUT, it's that desire that's going to keep them liking you. If you answer every call/text back right away, you're killing desire - i.e. the thing they need in order to keep liking you. Believe it or not, sometimes they call/text you hoping (subconsciously) that you will NOT answer, just so their feelings of desire for you will be more intense in the moment. Remember, women are all about emotion, so just because they seem to be wanting one thing via their action (in this case, wanting to hear from you) doesn't mean that's what they're actually after.

So, for me, when women start texting/calling more, my answer rate remains the same: when they call the first time I ignore it and wait a minimum 20 minutes before calling them back; when they send a text, I wait a minimum of 20 minutes before getting back to them. Then, throughout the day, I may answer on the first ring of their next call, then avoid the next one and wait a few hours to call back. Same with messages. This gives them (a) the impression that I'm busy doing other things besides sitting around thinking about them (and I usually am - I have a very busy life now); and (b) the feeling of DESIRE to want to hear from me that they need to keep her feelings for me at a high level.

Hope this helps!

Yup, I had to do this Friday with a potential plate. The neediness attention wh*ring is not attractive. Almost to the point that I really didn't want to take her out Friday. I don't do conversations through text, plain and simple. If you don't like that then oh the f*ck well find some other chump to do it.

High IL or not I think c*ck carousel chicks do this, jump right into GF mode texting WAY too much. :kick:

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.
