Why can't they stay in the kitchen?

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

I'll consider this a serious question with a joke following so I'll answer accordingly.

In my opinion women are obsessed from travels for two reasons, the first one is that their lifes most of the times are boring and unproductive, they lack that sense of achievement we do anytime we close a deal, gain money or simply set a new bench press record, travelling gives them some kind of sense of achievement because they feel they actually did something.

The second reason is the everpresent need for women "attention", travelling satisfies this need in two ways, the first one especially for white women visiting non western countries is being worshipped and desired to the highest degree from local men no matter if they are out of shape or in their 40s and hit the wall already.

The second one is that travelling (mean as I travelled regardless the place seen or what is learnt) allows them to brag about it, show off and in their mind give an aura of a better individual whose life is better than the one of those around them.

Facebook pictures look to them as an achievement and a tool to get attention.

The funny fact is that most of the time when they travel they basically do the same things they do in their country, shopping, mondanity, partying, gossip and socializing, they dont learn anything from the local culture or mentality beside few words "hello", "good night", "thank you" and so on.

This applies to up to 80% of women in my opinion.
