Why do they call them pick up "artist"?

Art is suppose to move you emotionally... I don't get "moved" by watching even the greatest pua's pick up women lol.

It makes sense to me because pickup is more of an art than a science. Being males, they've made efforts to turn attraction into a logical formula, but it's never quite that precise. Too many variables.

Probably because "pickup artist" sounds a lot like "con artist" and many of these guys sell their "xXxTREME PUSSPICKUP 9000xXx" courses* for $100 a pop to guys who don't know better.

To be fair, a lot of creativity is involved. No two field reports are the same.

I think the term “pickup artist” existed well before the seduction community. It just wasn’t a commonly used term early on.

"the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power."
