"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.

This happened awhile ago but I just wanted to get some advice on what to do the next time I'm in this situation.

I texted this girl I've known for awhile in the summer after school had gotten out (we had just graduated high school) and asked her what she was doing "this weekend"....she replied with something like "i'm going to be up north all weekend sorry!" I then called her probably about 5 days later (the Monday after the weekend) and got her voicemail and left a message saying that I was wondering how up north was and that we should hangout sometime this week and to give me a call back. She never responded to this voicemail, and so I texted her I believe it was only two days later on Wednesday saying "Hey so did you wanna hang out? If not, I'll see you around!"...I thought this was a very clear message, meaning, if you want to hang out, respond, if you don't want to hang out, don't respond.

She immediately texts me back saying "Yeah sorry I forgot to call ya back! what'd you wanna do?" I then told her and I picked a day and she said she had to work that day, and so out of fear of picking another day she had work, I asked her when she was free. (I now realize this was a horrible thing to do as I am not being in control) She replied she didn't know but she would let me know. Of course, she never lets me know....

What do you think happened? To me it seems like she never wanted to hang out but then I don't understand why she replied to my message saying "do you wanna hang out? If not I'LL SEE YOU AROUND"...I gave her the option to get rid of me by not replying and she didn't take it.???

I can see now that I came across very needy and not in control as I gave in and let her have the option of picking a day and letting me know...

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

That's what women do. Get used to it. Even the best of the best get flaked on.

thats just what they do. they are strange creatures. i used to wonder why the hell a woman would give me her number and even go out with me if she really isnt interested, it didnt make sense. now it does. ive gone on seveal dates and givin my number to girls i really wasnt interested in. why? because they offered to take me out and i probably didnt have any plans that night anyway. havent u ever slept with a girl u really werent interested in. why? because she was available but chances are you blew her off later. women do the same thing.
