"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.

Not sure what causes this but I tend to plan things out in my head and if things don't work out or I don't get my own way it really seems to get me down. Is this an ego thing? Any tips on taming it?

Example being I had plans with a girl tonight, food, drinks and she was going to stay at mine tonight. She texts me earlier saying she hasn't been feeling so good and will come out but doesn't want to stay over (valid excuse she was full of cold when we went out). Despite this I still felt down/miserable like a spoilt child throwing a strop the whole night due to not getting my way (obviously never said this too her) but it was probably apparent I wasn't enjoying myself. How do I avoid this in future and ensure my happiness is less dependant on me getting my own way?

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

Don't let your ego get in the way. Sometimes you have to realize that things don't always happen the way you planned out or hoped for. When things like that happen the best attitude you can have is to "accept it" for what it is. Then you will be in a much better state of mind. It also has a lot to do with maturity. Once you reach a stage of maturity you let things happen instead of forcing them to happen. Let nature take it's course is something we need to take heed to. You should also look at the bright side to every event. In your case, atleast she came over to see you though she was sick. She could have altogether cancelled your date. Thinking in a positive frame of mind helps ease the situation and make you feel better about yourself.

It'll happen either two ways:

1) You mature and grow out of it

2) This sort of behavior causes you to experience some relationship failures, and you learn to stop doing it because of negative feedback

This sort of thing used to happen to me a lot with a particular girlfriend, very unattractive, and it brings the vibe down.
