Who Really Controls the Dating Game?

Look around on POF and similar sites-- POF is good because of the yes/no/maybe feature that lets you quickly select people based only on a few photos-- and ask yourself how many of those women you would even consider dating.

For me it's about 3% if that. Probably 75% of those, I would disqualify based on personality factors.

Of course, I'm over 40, so many of the women there have run into the wall. Some of them very hard indeed. Some of them weren't anything special in the first place.

There's a perception around PUA communities that women are deluged with date requests. Even substandard women.

But consider for a second what the vast majority of those guys are like, and what they want.

I used to maintain myspace profiles that were attractive women, because at one time I was involved in marketing. Sometimes I would go through the mail that those profiles received and it was shocking and repulsive to say the least.

Maybe I'm biased because I am physically large and not a bad looking dude-- I'm certainly not Brad Pitt but a lot of women like big guys above all else. But I really have to say it wouldn't take most dudes much to put themselves far above the pack.

This isn't evidence, but an anecdote.
I know a guy who 5 6", bald, and very, very skinny. Furthermore, his figure is bent, so he looks kinda weird.

He ****s whatever he can get. Yes, he has ****ed obese women, and women with ugly faces.
Yet, he has managed to **** some 5's and 6's despite having no genetic advantages what-so-ever.

So all of you who complain about not being able to get laid.

Neither gender controls the market. Its a combination of attractiveness, status, and age that determines how much power any particular person has in the dating game.

As a general rule women are easier to get into relationships with than men and men are easier to have sex with than women.

Once a relationship is established... the man's interest level usually rises while the woman's falls. This is why the man will be in control in many fresh relationships while the woman is usually in control in LTR's older than 2 years. Another reason to spin plates. :yes:

Men are slower to commit.. but once they do.. they're usually serious. Women are faster to commit.. but have no loyalty whatsoever.

I am aware of this, and I have heard women say that while it is easy to find a guy if they would just want sex (which few women do), it is hard to find a guy who wants a relationship, which is what the women are really after.

BUT, at the end of the day and all things considered, I think women hold most of the cards in the dating game.

Just look at who pays drinks for whom, even when we have the same paycheck.
