Been watching the 007 series recently as I watched Skyfall and wanted to compare it to the previous Bond movies.

After watching the 70s Bond films/ 1981 For Your Eyes Only/ 1995 Goldeneye and Skyfall, I've come to the conclusion that the best Bond is Roger Moore.

Yes, the 70s Bond films were campy and kind of over the top but they had really cool moments too and you must admit Moore was the MACK. Plus, the villains were actually cool with TeeHee, Baron Samedi, "Mr. Bigg", Jaws, Drax. Can't comment on Sean Connery as I only watched Diamonds Are Forever and it was the worst of all of the Bond movies I have ever watched aside from anything from Daniel Craig.

Bonds (No Dalton or that other one movie dude)

Roger Moore - got notches while being smart and handling himself in (somewhat poorly choreographed) fights -- basically the bane of any feminist and the Bond which pisses them off the most

Sean Connery - looked tired and old in Diamonds Are Forever but you can tell he probably was a good Bond

Pierce Brosnan - his clothes were too big for him and he wasn't that much of a mack but he was good in Goldeneye

Daniel Craig - crying, emotional, non mack, ambigious scene with a "moist" villain -- a total beta square who enjoys fighting, not much for brains

Funny how Daniel Craig is easily the most muscular of the bunch, but also the most "moist".

From Russia with Love, Goldfinger, probably the best Bond films. Goldfinger, king of the campy way Bond was supposed to be. As far as I'm concerned the franchise doesn't exist any more.

I think you guys are dead wrong.

I found him to be the most realistic actually.

I like craig, but he never seemed to be bond in my opinion. Don't get me wrong craig has the best recent movies, but I never believed him to be bond maybe it's his look, and like you guys says he isn't much of a player.

To me Roger Moore was always, the embodiment of being bond.

I think Sean Connery was the best Bond, but Roger Moore was definitely the most classy of any of them.

Sean Connery old school type of man, could make humor without looking lame, knew how to deal with villains and henchmen and knew how to deal with women.
The right mix among aggressivity and self control, had the "I dont mind you as long as you dont bother me" attitude with girls.

Roger Moore, probably the most ironic and able to make humor, knew how to deal with villains and henchmen and how to deal with women altough more in an intellectual way rather than manly one compared to Connery.
Toward girls he had a "I want you but dont need you" attitude

Pierce Brosnan, like Connery when it came of dealing with villains and like Moore when it came of dealing with women.

Daniel Craig, uselessly violent toward villains even when violence was administered while totally beta when it came of dealing with women, he moved from the approval seeking attitute toward M, to the uber beta toward that cvnt which was getting railed from the algerian guy then killed (not sure which was the movie guess she was called vesper).

I mean Bond sipping a drink and then naming it after the girl cause "once you try it you cant stay without it? seriously? did they get female quotas among directors too?

So you get a guy which is violent even when its not necessary while being totally beta toward women...no thanks, I liked him much more in layer cake.

So I liked them in this order.

Roger Moore all the way! If you wanna expand past the 007 movies with him, check out his TV show "The Saint". His persona is pretty much identical in the series; totally fvcking suave all the way, getting women attracted, and using the same push/pull technique as he did in the Bond films. Absolutely love his work.

Honestly, Dean Martin would've been the best Bond, but he was American so likely wasn't even considered.

Craig's version was supposed to be closer to the books, for Casino Royale at least. From what I've heard, Bond was not originally a ladies man in the books. I don't know though, I've never read them.

Lol, that's one reason I didn't pick Moore. I can't look at him without thinking "Oh, there's The Saint". Aside from that, Moore seems to have one extra layer of cheese on him compared to Connery.

Darth's suggestion of Dean Martin is an interesting choice, I could see that.

For many people, the best Bond always seems to be which generation you were part of. No doubt my dad would vote for Sean Connery as it's who he grew up watching.

For myself, when Golden Eye hit the big screens in 1995, it was an instant legend amongst most kids my age. The video game in 1997 only helped secure that legacy. I'll always have a soft spot for Pierce, and 20 years later I still have that movie memorized, line for line.
