"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

Also what has been the most life- exchanging experience you've had?

For me! I haven't met anyone interesting. The persons i would have loved to meet are already dead, ppl like Martin Luther king, Karl Marx, Aristotle and a few other theorist, Gandhi and W. Clement Stone, since ppl like that to me were the wisest and most interesting of ppl i could have learned a lot from.

I have a lot of influential persons but # 1 is my mom who took care of me and big bro as a single parent when my dad left. (can't beat the strength of a woman)

NO life exchanging experience yet.

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

Why would he be a feminist because his mother had strength that his lazy daddy (man) didn't who left cause he was a wuss to the effect he couldn't handle responsibilty?

Explain yourself? And personally with inflation 50 cent isn't worth a dime.

I bet his father wasn't his mom's first.

"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.

Single mothers are overrated; at least the American ones.

There's plenty of socialistic benefits that come with these situations. The American people are taking care of you; you're not truly single.

The most important people that I have ever met were on this board in the form of Pook and Westcoaster.

a homeless bum on the street. Everyone was staring at him as he approached a food truck at my university to buy some food.

As he approached people backed away slightly but pretended not to change their habits for him but it was still obvious.

He asked to buy a pretzel and the truck attendant was nice enough to act normal and friendly. He told him it would be $0.50 cents.

The homeless guy then empties his pocket out into his hand. Counts out 50 cents which is almost everything in his pocket and hands it to the cashier/attendant. He places the rest back into his pocket which consisted only of a few coins.

The whole time this is going on i'm sitting at one of the two benches infront of the truck watching this infront of my school library.

The man takes his pretzel and sits down in the bench adjacent to mine. He talks to no one and bothers no one. He minds his own business

He slowly eats his pretzel, savoring it as if he were eating a 5 star course meal. This entrigues me.

I sit there and observe this man in rags. I watch as he enjoys his pretzel and pays no mind to the people around him. His life's troubles are not reflected in his eyes or his stature. The crowd that left when he approached now resume back to their normal positions.

I thought to myself that day, if a man with no home, money, or food, can learn to take so much pleasure from just one $0.50 cent pretzel, what do I have to complain about.

I am grateful for meeting this man. I remember nothing about his clothes except that they were worn out and dirty, do not remember his skin color, and i don't even remember his face. What i do remember is that this man made me learn to appreciate everything I have for what it's worth.

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

Apparently wherever you're from, they teach you to believe anything is a story.

This actually happened in real life at my school Drexel University, Philadelphia PA.

And since YOU WEREN'T PAYING ATTENTION, the op is not from America.

Need to get you're facts straight before you start assuming.

Probably my Dad. He started out as the poorest of the poor and worked his way up to middle class. He taught me what it was to be a man. The only thing he didn't teach me was how to deal with women, but now as a man, everything we discuss here on SS, he confirms. He never talked to us frankly about women because he didn't want us to go through the stuff he had to go through. He realized that was a mistake and has said so. I am still striving to be half the man he was. I still learn something from him every time we talk. Dad is aces.

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

My dad as well. He came as an immigrant to the US. He worked 2 jobs and started his own business and now is successful and rich. He rubbed off alot on me. People think i am him sometimes and i act like him as well. He's not the most interesting but probably the most influential person in my life.

Uh, you don't remember his color? Please. A typical story that gets told in many forms and circulates around the Net. You should have made the setting India. India still has lots of cache to Middle Americans.

And don't start with the American B.S. of, "I don't recognize color". That line has been used since the early 80's. Mr. Drummond would preach that on "Different Strokes".

See, I would have pulled out my phone and taped that bum eating that pretzel. Prayed that he would do something crazy so I could get a high view count on youtube. Hey, at least I am honest. Which is more than I can say for 95% on here.

Damn, I can't even remember his color!

Not all of us are immature pricks who tape the less fortunate hoping they'll do something stupid.

You remember everything that has happened to you your entire life? Ya i don't think so.

Do you know a reason why court cases are prolonged? It's so that the witness's can lose their credibility because they can't recollect the events in detail as time passes.

I know the guy was not black or asian but other than that, i don't know his race or skin color. Homeless guys bake outside all day in the summer and chill outside in the winters. I wouldn't be surprised if i mistook some homeless white guy for some hispanic latino person. Heck, he possibly could have been asian. I had the decency not to stare/eye the guy down, since he wasn't doing anything to disturb me or anyone else in the area.

If you've ever been in any major city like philly, nyc, chicago, you'll notice there's a lot of homeless people because the city is the place where it's easiest to run into ppl which increases your chances of running into people willing to give you money or anything else. You don't run into homeless people in the suburbs frequently. If you were saying that this is similar to one of those stories that another thing, but your saying
this is one of those stories which you're incorrect.

Once again, you're an idiot for assuming but atleast you're an honest idiot, right? Hey the first step is acknowledging you faults.

I'm sure you're still hoping for the day when the world relies on your assumptions for facts but i'm sorry, its not this year buddy.
