I was at a convention. I wound up sitting at a table of six, next to an attractive young lady. We all had a few drinks. She & I did a bit of fondling and light kissing at the table. The next day I ran into one of the guys who was at our table. He said: ‘You were all over that girl. I was going to intervene. But she seemed to like it.’

I dont think thats white knight behavior though, it sounds more like social caution

He went to prison for beating the last guy to death with his bare hands. I had 3-5 years before I knew he was coming for me, so I trained non-stop, 5-6 nights a week with the best. She and I weren't even really together when he got out, but eventually she ran off with me, so he got depressed and killed himself with a heroin overdose. Hallelujah.

I was at a club getting drinks at the bar when I noticed a blonde chick standing alone at the very edge of the bar, sipping on her drink and facing the dancefloor.
I walk up to her and begin to say something, and then this guy pops up out of nowhere and goes "You know she has a boyfriend right?"
That guy wasn't even her boyfriend. He was allegedly protecting her boyfriend (White Knighting).

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

Haha...was at a regional conference and this really hot woman who worked at the home office that also came to visit the store where I was a manager at few times was there as well. She was in operations and her job was to educate us on certain things and kind of do an audit to make sure we were following procedures. Wasn't a huge thing and we always were great in terms of that so no issues there. I was maybe 26 or 27 at the time and she was 23 or 24.

We always had a flirty undertone going on and we would go out to lunch alone together when she visited at her suggestion and she kinda got a little extra flirty at times saying things like "she wished she was in town longer so we could spend more time together", etc...

So anyway, it was a 3 day conference in her hometown and we were staying at a hotel...saw her in the morning and things were super flirty, like normal...we had lunch as a group and she sat next to me and then we made dinner plans and a few guys who worked at other stores in our district heard and basically invited themselves along...apparently for a reason.

She again sat next to me and put her hand on the inside of my thigh at one point during dinner and had to leave for a bit but we made plans to meet up later for a drink at the hotel bar and what I thought was a surefire lay but turns out these two guys reported this to my District Manager who pulled me aside and said that he didn't think what was going on between us was a "good look" and that it was unprofessional.

So that was that ..apparently she had the same discussion with someone at the home office and nothing progressed further.

Still mad at those two fvcking clowns. She was so freaking hot...

I would say the dead murderer. When he got out of prison, he bragged about it. "Anyone else gonna kill for ya, babe?" And she still wasn't interested.
You don't think that hanging out with a trashy chick with a murderer boyfriend and spending 5-6 nights a week for 3-5 years preparing for the inevitable confrontation is an (extreme) form of white knighting as well?

Life is a preparation for an inevitable confrontation, as far as I see it. I'm not going to ever be bullied by anyone, physically or otherwise. I have a law degree I don't use to practice, but it's in my pocket in case someone ever thinks they can make legal threats that I don't understand. I don't like bullies of any kind. As a kid, I was throwing rocks at them on the playground, as the best defense I had. I didn't realize that when you grow up they still never go away.

They don't go away but you can improve your quality of life tremendously by choosing not to associate with trashy people (including women).

I still don't see the point of what you did. If you were genuinely concerned for your safety, a 12 gauge would have been a much safer bet. You are fortunate to live in a country where it's legal to defend yourself.

It's sort of legal, but it's a hard sell to a jury to blow somebody away who wasn't wielding a weapon against you. Concealed carry is legal in my state, and it seems like everyone has a gun. It's a trap, though. Pulling the gun out is a felony, shooting it even as warning shot into the air is another felony, and this is before you hurt anyone. Self defense is an affirmative one, so you have to pay a lawyer to plead it even if you win. I do own a gun, because the law is on my side when defending my own home. But I much prefer my shepherd dog to carry around. It's not a felony to display her.

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.
