Where were you eight years ago today?

This thread is mainly for Americans but anyone can post. Don't be a jackass and turn it into a political or conspiracy theory thread.

I was a freshman in high school in bed. Our high school ran on a "split" schedule where we have four classes one day, and four the other day, and on that particular day I had a "late arrival" instead of a first period class. It was just before 9 AM Pacific time, and my mom knocked on the door to tell me to come downstairs and check the news.

I was in middle school in gym and the school went on lockdown so we got to play basketball for awhile. Then my mom showed up to check us out not out of fear but my parents wanted to be sure my sister and I were watching the news since it was a moment in history

I was still living with my parents. Those were the days.

In class, teacher wheeled the tele into the room.

Most kids went outside (school got cancelled) but me and another kid stayed in and watched the 2nd plane hit. Kind of happy I stayed and saw what happened in real time, but I still get angry seeing videos of it.
