Where to go when you've never gone to her city

Basically, i met a girl from a different city not too far from mine. I already got a date set up for friday at 8.
I havent said where we're going yet, because i have no idea what there is to do close to her place (she told me her part of town when i asked).

thinking about texting her, "never been to that part of town, but i will find something fun for us to do" and then tell her a spot closer to friday, but i still have to find a place.
it's a big city, so it'll be easy to find other spots to go once we meet up.

Anybody been in a similar situation?
