"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

When to make the first move

The big question.

I've read this forum for almost 3 months now and just subscribed. But in all my reading it seems many people GET how to pick up girls' numbers, even go out on a date. Sadly, when it comes to making the first move, that old fear comes back and they don't try anything.

I'll start off with a true story:

One of the most beautiful girls in my grade, easily a HB9.5 (for high school), I'll call her LB, and I started talking more and more at school. Prom was coming up, and being the gentleman (wuss) I was, I bought her a dozen roses and decided I would ask her the next day at school.

Unfortunately, someone was asking her LITERALLY when I walked in the door to our school. I saw them hug, and thought that was that. Being that her locker is right next to mine, she came over and this is what went down:

LB: Hey
Me: Hey, so you're going to Prom with TS?
LB: Well, I kinda don't want to go with him, I told him that I had to ask my parents because they might not let me go. Basically I avoided the question but made it seem like I probably could...
Me: Oh really? So you want to go with someone else?
LB: Yeah, well, he hasn't asked yet. Oooh! Who are those roses for?
Me: I bought them for you, but I understand if you want the other person to ask (DONT EVER SAY THIS TO A GIRL!)
LB: REALLY?! I WANTED TO GO WITH YOU!

Blah blah blah, she said yes to me, the other guy found out, tried to start ****, but didn't do anything.

That weekend she came over to my house and we watched 40 Year Old Virgin in my room on my couch, and she INITIATED holding my hand. Most guys would just be like "sweet, she likes me" but LB is one of those girls who is VERY prude and sort of goodie-goodie, so I got pussified and didn't try to make a move, fearing rejection. (Why?! Guys let me tell you something, if a girl INITIATES holding hands or more when watching a movie, DO NOT HESITATE to at least kiss her... trust me, she likes you).

I dropped her off at her house later that night and DIDN'T KISS HER because again, I feared rejection.

But hey, we held hands, that's not bad. And she hasn't done very much at all so I'll just "take it slow."

A week later I set up a "movie night" at her place, expecting to maybe get a "jump start" on things before prom. My good friend QD heard and pretty much invited himself and another girl over. I didn't care too much, he knows whats going on and wont try anything stupid like c0ckblocking me.

We started out just chillin and riding her go-karts (pretty sweet) outside, then when it got dark we rented a few of those newish "Horrorfest" movies (terrible, don't get them). The movie started and I pulled a blanket over me and LB. I don't remember the first half of the movie, not because I was kissing her like I should have, but I was trying to work up the courage to HOLD HER HAND. Finally, I did, and that was it for the two movies. QD and his girl left to the kitchen (for 30 minutes), cause he said he would leave us alone. And all we did was watch TV and talk a bit.

This happened probably 3 times before prom, where I'd chill with her and holding hands was the farthest we would get. And even doing that made the butterflies come up in my stomach.

Prom night, we had a GREAT time. Pre-prom was great... good food, just overall fun. We rolled up and danced for a while then got our pictures when the lines were shorter. I found NO problem holding her hand, because we had been dancing and touching was no big deal (THAT IS WHY KINO IS SO IMPORTANT FOR BEGINNERS AND EXPERIENCED DJ'S ALIKE!).

I had finally worked up the courage to kiss her when she left, but then my freakin MOM happened to be in the same place as our prom and CALLED MY NAME. I was pretty pissed.

And from there it faded. We hung out a few more times. Holding hands was less frequent (never, during this whole time, at school). Then eventually we started avoiding each other. I liked her a lot but it just got so AWKWARD.

Those whole series of events happened over a course of about 2 months, because kids at my school are weird and ask WAY in advance to make sure the good ones aren't all gone.

Then I started reading here, and downloading ebooks and such to work on my game. I have a little experience in the field, moderate success, and have a great (freakishly naturally good with woman) wingman if needed.

A recap:

1. She rejected someone to go to prom with me.
2. She initiated holding my hand the first time we hung out.
3. Even after these signs I was still afraid to make a move.

So how do you know when to make a move?

1. If a girl EVER initiates holding hands, or kissing you. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES feel afraid to advance further. If you are unexperienced in how to tell if a girl is ready. Just go one step at a time. First date: hold hands, second: hold hands and kiss, third date: hold hands, kiss, makeout... etc.
2. Use "the kiss test". It can be found many places on this site, but basically you feel a girls hair and say "Hey, your hair is SO soft", and if she lets you keep feeling it then you know she's ready to kiss.
3. There's also the "triangle gaze" where you look at one eye, then the other, then her lips, whilst licking your lips, moving closer to her... something to let her know you want her and she's gonna get it.
4. Say a girl doesn't respond to the kiss test well. Just back off a little, do some more kino, and try again. If she responds bad more than twice. Say "thank you, but I have to go" and move on.

I know from experience it's a LOT harder in highschool to just accept that a girl is not interested and move on, because there's usually a more restricted range of girls to choose from, and if you fail with one, the whole school will know... so you have to be a little more careful than if you're out at a club or mall when trying to get with (to hook up or start a relationship) a girl in your school. You can be shot down being a wuss, or be go down in flames trying.

KINO
I cannot stress how IMPORTANT kino is, especially in high school. Girls are (usually) not as experienced as older women, therefore it take more time and effort to make them comfortable with doing things. The ways I use kino that almost ALWAYS work for me are:
1. Giving high fives
2. Thumb wrestling (always be sure to cheat at first, which will get her laughing and possibly play hitting you)
3. Tickling
4. Comparing hand sizes (killer) then moving into thumb wrestling or hand massaging
5. Piggyback rides (make sure to run around and spin a lot, keep it fun)
6. Pushing her into things while you're walking (not hard, of course, but lightly hip check her or "guide" her into the lockers, trashcan, etc.)
7. Ask to see her hand, then give her a hand massage (killer)
much, much more...

One thing EVERYONE must remember is derived from a very famous baseball player, I think you will know who I'm talking about:
"You will never hit what you don't swing at"

No matter how cool you look, how much you read up on the internet, you will NEVER be successful if you don't take chances. Just read up on some of these DJ's journals. Every night they walk away with around 3-5 rejections. Sometimes more, sometimes less. But you learn from your mistakes, and try try again.

Hope this helped some. I would strongly encourage other high school DJ's to add in their ways to make the first move.

"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.

So, so true. I recently worked all this out to. Wish I had known about it before, but will make sure I never let an opportunity disapperar again.

The difference between the DJ and the AFC is one grew a pair of balls. The best part of making mistakes is learning from them.
Are you not going for another try? Seems you learned pretty well and know what to have done differently with her.
