I've done some casual dating since my possible Cluster B ex left me last October. One girl that I had the most success with ended up blowing me off. We ended up going on four dates, had sex the last two dates. For our fifth date, she texted me that day claiming a family emergency. It seemed like bull$hit and it turned out to be the case after I never heard from her again. Something about her made me think she might flake on me, so I always had my guard up and I wasn't too upset or bothered about it when she did blow me off.

One thing that concerns me is that on our last date, she went on and on for like a good 10-15 minutes about some inane facebook drama that she was involved in. It was during this monologue that I realized that this girl was pretty immature and there was no long-term potential for anything, but she was hot and I still wanted to get into her pants a few times.

I guess my question is, how do you steer the conversation away from something asinine and stupid like some facebook beef she's having with one of her friends? I was eventually able to steer it back to other topics of conversation, but I'm wondering how an Alpha would have handled it after 10 minutes of listening to this drivel?

lol...who says I fell in love after four dates? I'm six months removed from getting dumped by a probably Cluster B, so you could say I'm pretty emotionally unavailable to fall in love right now. But I think casual dating is pushing myself to move forward and aid in the process of detaching.

The bolded is I guess what I'm asking - I obviously didn't play it right since she found it so easy to blow me off and flake. And since it was pretty casual dating, I had no illusions about other guys being in the picture. Maybe it was just a case of her liking somebody else better and there was really nothing I could have done differently. It's just if they're sitting there talking incessantly about some facebook drama that has nothing to do with you, and not bothering to make eye contact, then they're obviously not taking an interest in you and getting to know you. After a few minutes of this, I was thinking "I've got to steer this back towards some playful flirting and away from her using me as a therapist."

I realized at this point that a relationship or anything more than casual was not going to happen, and I didn't really want that. But I was hoping to bang her a few more times.

Before F-ing a girl, you don't want to establish yourself as a guy-friend she dumps all her drama on. AFTER F-ing her, you've already established yourself as the guy she's f-ing, so it's perfectly natural for her to talk about dumb chick-stuff. This is stuff that's usually emotionally important to her...it's OK to call her out for things being silly, but you NEVER want to act like SHE is stupid for bringing it up. Right after sex is when a woman is MOST vulnerable. There is NO quicker way to make her clam up and never want to speak to you again than making her feel stupid right after f-ing her.

I'm not saying you should sit there and listen forever, but don't be a total d!ck about it either.

The attitude you should have toward that kind of drivel is, "That's adorable". As if you had just gotten home from work and your daughter was telling you about her adventures pretending to be a princess. You don't take any of it seriously, but you don't make her feel like a retard either...you just play along, empathize, and shift the topic to something a little more relevant (or sexual ) when she runs out of air for a few seconds.

Thanks. That was pretty much the response I was looking for. I didn't act like a **** when she was going on about this stuff. Just wondering if I handled it correctly or not. I think the bottom line is that she just wasn't that into me but was up for some sex.
