I went on a date with this girl a few weeks ago and she was talking politics, it ended the date on a pretty sour note (as you can imagine). Who even goes on a date to argue topics anyway? Sheez.
Anyway I mentioned this to a friend-girl and said "Man it irritates me when people start off on politics on a date." And she replied with "Well, I don't know lots about politics actually."
Is it me or is that kind of an unusual thing to say? It seems odd she'd denigrate her own knowledge about something unless she was fishing for a date with me (I.E. "I'm not like that girl"), but at the same time she didn't seem hugely interested.
I've had similar things when you say something like "My ex used to hate gardening, but I loved it." and then she says "I like gardening."
Is this a common weird girl thing or am I putting my brain into this too much?
