"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.

After back and forth conversation for a bit, what is a better way to close her?

"Let me get your number that way we can get to know each other better"

or

"Let me get your number so we can get together and do something sometime"

Thoughts? What do you usually say?

"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.

It's completely irrelevent. Infact, if you do your job right SHE should want to number close YOU. A phone number is just a way to get in contact with someone. If you start viewing phone numbers as trophies or the ultimate goal when talking with a woman, you'll get nothing but a lot of flakes.

Well shiftkey, you're right to an extent.. but there are some girls out there that are too afraid to even ask. I've learned in the past when I found this lady very attractive and I knew she found me very attractive but at the end we both just said "Well, it was nice to meet you, bye" and we've never seen each other again.

No no, sorry I should have made this more clear. You should still be the one to ask eventually. Just because she wants to ask for your phone number doesn't mean she will, because like you said she could be too afraid to ask. My point was that the wording of the question is not important.

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

Personally, I like David D's approach where you tell her to right her email down, and then as she is writing, have her right her number down as well. I've used this a couple of times and it is definitely less intimidating for her and there isn’t as much tension in the air either.

I like choice #2 better. You are getting her number so you can call her and setup a date to go out with her, you are going out with her so that you can get to know her better, which is implied and not something you really need to say.

It doesn't matter exactly how you word asking her for her number. If you did a good enough job in getting her attracted to you it doesn't matter how you actually word it, as long as she understands that you're asking for her digits.

The same goes for the first kiss and all sorts of other crap. As long as she's attracted to you, it doesn't matter how clumsily you go in for the number or the kiss or anything else, as long as she wants to give it to you.

So don't worry about semantics like, "what do I say exactly" just worry about getting her to like you enough to where it doesn't matter.

Side note, one little tip I have on getting a girl's number is that you don't ask her in front of her group. If she's with friends, regardless of if you're friends with them or not pull her aside from the group and ask her there, it puts less pressure on her. She doesn't have to do it in front of all her friends if you do it that way (she might be embarrassed to give you her number in front of people.)

If the convo is going well it will come naturally, not as some canned line.

Say:"Let's get together and do something sometime, what's your phone #?"

This whole get together to do "something sometime" seems kinda silly to me. Just say date. It sounds better than "something sometime." It doesn't feel very confident, "hey, umm, if you give me your number, or something, I could, like, call you sometime and we can, like, do something." That's what it feels like.

I don't go for numbers that much because I don't want a girl's number if I can't see myself wanting to take her out (and most girls I meet I'd rather just kind of know them rather than date them). But when I do get a number the energy is pretty high and I say something along the lines of "give me your number. We're getting together soon."

Its not rocket science. If you say it wrong its not THAT big of a deal. Just show confidence when you do it.

Forms is right, the more confident you come across when you ask for the # the better chance you have of getting it. It's all in how you say it, but it's almost like you are demanding the number in a charismatic way. Confident guys do not "ask" for numbers, they "demand" them.

I still don't see what's so hard about number closing a girl, attractive of otherwise. If you had a good time with her and she doesn't happen to ask for your number like shift says then you say "Hey I should get your number" what could she possibly say other then then yes? hmmm she might say no but guess what THE WORLD WILL KEEP SPINNING, and there will be other "very attractive" ladies in your future.

Grow the f*ck up.

Its been nice chatting with you but I have to go now... I will send you an email when I am free... <long pause> I seem to have forgotten one thing though... <she should say something like you've forgotten my email and she should give it, if she doesn't then just say.. "your email silly" and then she will give it too you>

when she is writing down her email just say "and your phone number"

This close has worked for me most times I have tried it but it needs some more field testing which I can't do because I am in a LTR in a small city.

Frankly, both of those suck.

And it doesn't even matter anyway. Its not so much WHAT you say, and not even HOW you say it, but really, when it comes to getting numbers, its THAT you said it.

When a girl is really interested in you, the only thing stopping her from giving you her number is that you haven't asked for it yet. Think about that. She's all for giving it to you. She WANTS you to have it. But either she's too afraid she'll be thought of as a slut/easy, or she's waiting to see if you actually have the balls to ask for it. The longer it takes you to ask, the less she'll want you to have it.

This same idea works for lots of things. Touching, kissing, sex... most of the time, the girl is dying to do these things, and the only reason she doesn't is because you haven't made the move yet. She won't do it because she wants to see if you're man enough to initiate it yourself, and/or she doesn't want the slut label. Usually by the time you've finally tried to get something started, the window has passed and she just gets more annoyed. Sound familiar?

Let's let all this sink in for a moment.

...

...Got it? Good.

So the lesson here is, just grab your cojones and get her number. Do it before she changes her mind about you. I fear it may already be too late...

Class is over, please shuffle out single file. Good day.

While I'm sure he appreaciates the fine advice from you guys, he doesn't need it anymore. He already has confidence as high as a telephone pole that he's pulling and sleeping with hot pornstars that are married to rockstars.

"How I Made Sure No Woman Ever Friend-Zoned Me Again"

She calls you when her car breaks down. When she needs help moving. When some guy she's actually dating treats her badly.

You're the listener. The reliable one. The guy who would treat her so much better, if she'd just open her eyes.

She won't. You trained her to see you as the low-effort option — the friend who requires zero risk and zero investment. Every favor dug the hole deeper.

The "22 Rules" break the pattern. You'll stop auditioning for a role she already cast and become the man she chases instead. It starts with Rule 1.
