what to do when a chick says bad and untrue things about you behind your back???

Okay so there is this chick that is my EX-girls best friend we had broken up over some dumb things early last year in high school but anyways thats not the problem since then her best friend have been telling some people bad and untrue things about me behind my back which i don't get and don't like and we go to the same university but the EX doesn't. I got this info from a friend of mine who is a reliable source, who then came back and told me.
so what should i do here, just ignore the situation and go on with my life or confront this b!tch and give her piece of my mind!
Have anyone of you been in this kind of scenario?? because i really need some advice from someone who has because this is getting to me its bad when someone talks about you behing your back but when its not true that makes it even worse and me a very pissed off individual.:box:

You would be surprised how quickly people forget things in college. Just have fun and dont let it bother you.

Social circles in college are pretty forgiving (at least here in the states) so let it go.

Here's how I have/would combat that. I would make friends with high-integrity people Only. Then when she talks behind your back, whoever she says that to will know that you are friends with so n' so who's a highly reliable individual, and that what she said can't be true because your high-integrity friend(s) wouldn't choose being friends with you if you were low-class, whatever, like she says you were. Be generous and giving to others and apart of a group of people who are giving and generous, and then whatever they say about you will just bounce off like arrows bounce off a shield.
