Why "Whatever You Want" Keeps You Single

She says the movie looks dumb; you suddenly agree. She tests you with a little attitude; you apologize for nothing.

You think you're being easy to get along with. She reads something else entirely: a man with no edges. Nothing to hold on to. No friction, no tension, no reason to wonder what he really thinks.

The "22 Rules" taught me to push back — playfully, calmly, without needing her approval. Strange things happened after that.

this whole situation is so ****ed up. i met this girl a few weeks before the semester ended and had fun chillin with her. we were drunk at a party and she was all over me. she came back to my room and insisted on sleeping on my bed because she couldn't sleep alone. she cuddled with me and we kissed/made out.

i wasn't sure what to think about it because we were ****ed up. but the days following she wanted to hang out with me. she also wanted me to watch a movie in her room wit her. then, out of nowhere she hooks up with this kid that i know down the hall at a party (they were both drunk again). this kid is a real chump, he even told her that not a lot of girls like him. anyway a friend who talked to the girl said that she is looking for a relationship, and actually looking for a nice guy to treat her right. can you believe this?? she's been in a few relationships with *******s and i can't believe she would choose this guy.

she told her friend that she liked me, but that we didn't really click right away. she said she can tell right from the start if something will happen with a person.

do i ignore her and disappear for a while? not let it phase me? it's really been on my mind a lot and i just wanna deck this kid, he knew i was trying to get with her.

should i wait around until shes single again, i dunno if this relationship will last long...

"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.

This girl is an "add alcohol" slut recipe. Mess with her and you'll get burned. Go find someone else.

There are hundreds and hundreds of girls at college. Just because one has a tendency to suck face with any random guy when drunk and you were one of those guys...it means nothing. The most important thing for you to remember as a young guy trying to find your "man's legs" is that when a girl pays a little bit of attention to you it's a really bad idea to let your imagination get away with you. It sounds like you're only infatuated with this girl because she was all over you when she was drunk. Go meet lots of girls and find one to ask out that seems interested in you when she's not drunk.

yea, we did spend a few nights talking all night and went for walks. we really did have a lot in common as far as our background goes. she was a real down to earth girl who had all of the same interests.

thanks for your input, even though it's not the advice i was hoping to hear, it's probably for the best...walking away will be the hardest part.

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.
