What places / locations / activities have given you the most success in cold approaches?

Do you purposefully take part in activities that are dominated by women for more approaches?

I seldom have a truly cold approach. I tend to warm it up through indirect conversation. If I do it right they approach me...
I've done it in restaurants, bars, at award dinners, parties, hiking, bbq's etc..
