Interesting article (here) about what kills various musicians in various genres.

Half of deaths to rap and hip hop artists is murder.

Folk singers die from cancer (they get old).

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Kenny finds that accidents – including car crashes and drug overdoses – are a huge cause of premature death for musicians, accounting for almost 20 percent of all deaths across genres. But accidents are much more likely to kill rock, metal and punk musicians. Punk and metal musicians also appear susceptible to suicide, while gospel musicians had the lowest suicide rate of all genres.

I really want to see a different kind of statistics, about the planes that fly today, and how often each model of plane is likely to fall. On Christmas day in my city plane fell down, killing red army choir, crew, service men, and a lady that was helping children in war torn countries. Plane was Tu-154, produced in 1983, not old by any means. Unknown yet why, but during take off flaps either didn't retract, or deployed, and it fell down 70 seconds into the flight. No commercial airline is using that model, just the military, but still, I really want to know when I buy a plane ticket, what are my chances.

Half of hip hop deaths have been due to murder? That seems like an incredibly high amount. It might have something to do with the fact that hip hop is a relatively young art form, a lot of them haven't had a chance to die off naturally yet.
