What is your opinion about keeping cash in your house safe?

I doubt that the guys from the states are concerned about their central bank or national banks to steal money from them through cyprus style legal robberies but Im sure the guys from Europe are.

I hear the IMF suggested to the european banks to enforce a withdrawal of 10% from european cash depots in order to fix the situation of many countries.

Being the european parliament a parassite antidemocrat lobbist association elected from the citizens in a very limited part, there is the chance that some serious sh1t will be done.

At this point I was considering to withdraw from my bank account slowly most of my money and keep euro cash in my safe, after all if the gov cant see it, it cannot steal it....in 2013 Im more concerned about my gov than burglars...

I never liked safes for cash, unless the safe is completely hidden under the floor or behind a wall, and only you know where it is. Once a safe is discovered, it is only as good as its mounting.

I always liked to hide cash in places that a thief is not going to look, like in old books and pockets of clothes hung up in a closet. You can get a lot more creative, depending upon how easily you need to access the money. Most appliances come apart rather easily and have enough space to hide cash inside them. If you live in a house with walls made of gypsum board, aka drywall, it is very easy to cut a hole in a wall, then patch and re-paint the area so it cannot be seen.

I wouldn't bury money in a place anyone else had access to, but if you have a secure area like a dirt crawlspace under your house, the right way to bury money is to roll it up and place it in a piece of pvc pipe, then glue an end cap on each end with pvc glue. The cash will store nicely in the ground for much longer than any of us will live.

Safe's? I didn't know peple still used those these days. I always thought those had more to do with shop owners.

Your home is the best place, if not expect your account to be wiped out in the near future. This will happen to everyone all over the country.
