That comes down to odds of reproducing.

A man who sleeps around is reproducing more. Historically, men who did this procreated more so there are more of them here. Meanwhile, a woman who is sleeping around is neglecting her children basically. Historically, women who did this didn't tend to survive as often (not before the welfare state anyhow).

Add to this the fact that women get to choose, so a man sleeping around is being universally chosen, while a woman sleeping around is simply not being choosy enough.

That's why every time a man sleeps with a new woman, he gains energy forever, and every time a woman sleeps with a new man, she loses something forever (although it can be an investment).

Funny how we never mention the double standard to defend men who are virgins being made fun of while women who are virgins can auction themselves off on eBay for millions.

There is no double standard. Men and women are opposites, but what is common is that we tend to instinctively both frown upon behavior that decreases our odds of procreating.

Correct your terminology before speaking up and looking like a fool then.
