Marksmanship is the best fighting style fellas.
You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.
For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.
Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.
The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.
You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.
Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.
Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.
Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.
She calls you when her car breaks down. When she needs help moving. When some guy she's actually dating treats her badly.
You're the listener. The reliable one. The guy who would treat her so much better, if she'd just open her eyes.
She won't. You trained her to see you as the low-effort option — the friend who requires zero risk and zero investment. Every favor dug the hole deeper.
The "22 Rules" break the pattern. You'll stop auditioning for a role she already cast and become the man she chases instead. It starts with Rule 1.
Yeah, I got your opinion right here.Originally posted by Jayer
Ok I did some research on some of your replies and here's what I came up with.
This guy Wandrei Silva is not the best figher as he has something like 5 losses.
Fedor Emalienenko only has 1 loss and it was due to a cut. He later avenged the loss by knocking out the guy that beat him so he probably takes the cake for best figher.
He does not use jiu jitsu though. He uses Judo and Sambo.
So what is sambo?
Also, the Gracie's have never been defeated in "Vale Tudo" and since this is as close to a real street fight as you can get, you can make the argument that their style is the best.
Lets hear some more opinions on this....
I served with a guy who was a former amateur world champion TKD fighter. He was a very dangerous guy. We were in a fairly tough unit, with many many experienced fighters, but this guy was something else.Originally posted by Jayer
Tae Kwon Do is more of an art than an affecting fighting style. I'd say someone that can strike can work their way inside of your kicking and beat the **** out of you.
Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.
You've been "getting ready" for two years.
She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.
Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.
I would have said the same thing had I not got into some serious martial arts training and conditioning (I changed my goal from looking good through fitness to combat conditioning for Muay Thai).Originally posted by tigre
WTF taekwondo?!! lol thats for 11year olds. taekwondo is about the weakiest/g@yest fighting style in the world, with their weak ass fancy kicks and their retarded punches. Taekwondo kicks hit the opponent with the upper part of the feet and you can break your ankle like that plus those kicks are just straight up fantasy kicks that will never work in a real fight.
Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.
Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?
You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.
Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.
Like my martial arts teacher (sport karate several-times world champion Richard Plowden) always liked to say: "If there was any style better than all the others, everybody would be doing it."Originally posted by Skel
The most effective fighting style is all styles combined end of discussion.
She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.
Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.
The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.
