What is inner game

I am reading a lot on here. But I don't understand properly what you guys mean with improve your ''inner game''. Can someone explain.

to my understanding, what we refer to as inner game, is simply emotional intelligence. the ability to feel the other, and know how to act and interact.

"Inner game" refers to one's ability to reign in his negative emotions, be at peace with himself and have a healthy self-image. Feeling good about yourself is a prerequisite for a positive interaction with others.
