What is a good cheap phone service for calls from USA to U.K

Hi guys,

I am going to be in america for 3 months, but I am going to probs need like 300 minutes a month to call the U.k, so I was just wondering if anyone in the USA knew of any good rates something like $35 a month and where I could get it.

The best thing I can find so far is fonepool for unlimited calls everywhere in the world pretty much for $60. So do you lot have anything better than that?

Is VOIP (voice over IP) an option? If so, you could always use Skype.

Google Voice (VOIP) is available some places as long as you don't mind being monitored. I hear the call quality is excellent.

I'm not sure how these work on a mobile,this may be a stupid question, but do I have to get a special mobile phone that can use these and is it only certain networks that can use this in america?

So for example could i get the app on my Android phone in england, then go america and get a sim for a network pay as u go service and just use my app?
