"You Can't Argue a Woman Into Liking You"

You made your case like a lawyer. Stable job. Good guy. Ready for something real. All true. All irrelevant.

She weighed your points, nodded along, felt nothing — then fell hard for some tattooed bartender with a motorcycle and a gambling problem.

Logic is where attraction goes to die. The "22 Rules" work a level deeper, on the subconscious switches that decide within minutes whether you register as a MAN or as part of the furniture.

Stop presenting evidence. Start flipping switches.

What if, during a date, she asks me

the price of something I am wearing, that is indeed expensive?

For example, if I am wearing a $495 GUESS diamond sterling silver men's watch, and she compliments it and then asks me how much did I get it for:

How do I tell her how much I got it without possibly sounding like I am showing off or I am lying. Should I:

1) tell the truth and says it's $495
or
2) lie and say a lower price

Now, I know most you might say "wtf, if it's a luxury watch, say the price it is", but I just want some insight on this on how to get that info across without sounding like showing off or making her think I am making it up to sound cool

Or maybe I am just overthinking

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

If she asked how much your watch is, i suggest you answer that simple question as it is in a confident manner and let her know how much you bought it. Simple as that  . Then if she praise you for it, say thank you and let her know you worked hard for it. Saying further beyond that though, ex. like you also have a lot of more expensive stuffs like a panerai luminor marina "might" give an impression that you're showing off. Nevertheless, It basically depends on the other person's insecurities if how they'll interpret it and that's their problem not yours.

Usually, it just for a "conversation piece". nothing more than that.

Being honest may not get you a lot of girls, but it'll always get you the right ones

I would see it as a red flag. Who cares how much money I spend on my stuff. Is she just gold digging?

Since when is a $495 watch considered expensive?

"Why, do you want to buy it? I'll give to for a special price - $1,000."

Now that's the way to handle it.

"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.

So fkin pissed off, I typed out individual responses to all of you in the quick reply box and hit post but it gave me the login page again even though I was logged in, the entire content was lost. Is there no way to multi-quote? I'll just have to give a general answer now:

The girl and I know each other more "just met". She isn't a gold digger and the question is one of those follow ups to "Wow, that's a really nice x (in this case, watch), how much did you get it for?"

To the guy who apparently thinks $500 is not an expensive watch, I'm sorry not all of us live in mansions with their own zip codes and get driven to school everyday in a lambo. When I said expensive, I didn't mean expensive as in lucury but rather "expensive compared to the average watch on the average watch wearers, i.e. the sub $100 watches you see on 9 out of 10 wrists out there".

Keep in mind I am a 22 yr old college student; the last time I saw someone like that wearing a $500 watch was....oh yeah, never. And I live in NYC.

For the c/f responses, I agree, they would do the trick quite well and be good substitutes. But I was just thinking about going straight and just saying it without twisting things around for a genuine question like that.

Love the $1000 one Atom Smasher, def could work.

At PairPlusRoyalFlush, I think I'll go with the "Um I don't really remember, I think I got it on sale for like $500". This way it can show/tell that I don't think much of the price when it comes to shopping (can be a bad thing too though), hence the "dont really remember".

Thanks for the responses guys, feel free to add, otherwise we can let this fall back into the realm of unvisited pages .

what makes you think you have to tell her at all or that anyone here would recommend that?

in fact, most people here would encourage you to make something up and sound "cool". some humor doesnt hurt as well. its called c0cky/funny.

"how much was that watch?"
"i dont know, it was a gift"

"how much was that watch"
"i dont remember exactly, but you cant put a price a time"

"how much was that watch?"
"i payed the iron price!"

A woman like that would never get a call for a SECOND date from me.

RED FLAGS for a GOLD DIGGER.

Only men who goes for a red flagged Gold Digger is an AFC who just wants any beautiful woman's attention and would pay for it in the long run.

Reminded me of a Polish woman that looked almost identical to Cameron Diaz, who I was on a 3rd date with having a dinner at her place where she cooked up a 4 course meal on Christmas Day. I thought she was a catch - until the thing that came out of her mouth "I am going to quit my job soon, and I don't know how to pay my rent - maybe I'll find a boyfriend who will". Enough to say, she never heard from me again.

MEN - take the time KNOW who the woman is... sometimes it takes a good while to do so, but it is worth it before you take the dive at the expense of saving your heart and emotional investment (especially if she's too hot to get burned).

Tell her you stole it off a hobo while he was sleepin

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

Another good reason for not telling her is that she might actually hold it against you. Maybe she'd think you were vain, shallow, or insecure. I'm not saying you are, just that you could be stereotyped as such based on something as simple as a watch.

Ha! It would be to me, and I make better money than most. But to each his own. I would rather pay debt down and become financially independent earlier in life.
Not to say that $500 is chump change, but a decent watch will cost a lot more than that. When it comes to watches, you either buy a good mechanical Swiss watch (which will set you back at least a couple of grand) or something cheap if all you need is to tell the time. A $500 watch from a clothing company is kind of silly if you ask me.

You gotta counter-dig the gold digger:

Tell her your last Sugar Mamma that was a dead ringer for Demi Moore got it for you. Proceed to go on and on for 5 solid minutes on what a hot, dirty fück she was.

But yeah, that's a red flag. :nono: If anything, it's just shıt manners to ask someone how much something is when you barely know them.

I've once had a girl ask me how much my car costs. A pretty stupid question, considering that you can easily google the answer if you're THAT curious. On the plus side, you know that a woman who asks something like that is pretty dumb (and can easily be manipulated into a pump and dump). Most gold-diggers are smart enough not to commit such an obvious faux pas.
