was out with my mate and his girlfriend and all her girlfriends the other day, we went to a bar for a few drinks and a game of pool. Afterwards my mates girlfriend was saying to me that me and her friend Nicola, seemed to get along very well with each other and looked good as a couple, blah blah.

This Nicola girl has a boyfriend, but he apparatnley is an ar5e hole, who doesn't treat her very well. My mates girlfriend kept saying to me that me and her pal Nicola would be great together.

Whats your take on this?, is she trying to hook us up or what?

Come on, man, give us a break. Isn't the answer obvious? You said your friend's girl said that you two would make a great couple. You answered your own question.

Maybe the way the guy(jerk?) is treating the woman is precisely why she is staying with him. You will be rebound and
not likely to win her away from him. Of course, you can try but being rebound guy trying to take woman from jerk almost always is a doomed mission from the start. Let her come to you if she wants out . If it happens naturallly, that would be cool.
