BOYNTON BEACH, FL – Just two days after his wife is accused of trying to kill him, Michael Dippolito officially filed for divorce. He’s also filed a civil lawsuit to get the couple’s townhouse back from his wife.
Jason Brodie is one of several attorneys representing Michael. He says, "All of sudden he goes from being in marriage to waking up and his whole life is upside down.”
Detectives say she wanted him dead. Police received a tip. The civil lawsuit says the tip came from Dalia’s boyfriend on the side. An undercover officer posed as a hit man and police set up a sting. Dalia Dippolito was arrested for solicitation to commit first degree murder. She said she didn’t do it as she was put into a police car.
Their home in Renaissance Commons is valued around $232,000. Michael purchased it days before the couple married six months ago. He bought the home through his wife who worked at Beach Front Realty of Aventura. Her boss says since she began working there in January, it was the only property she sold.
The townhouse was transferred solely into his Dalia’s name the day before she’s accused of trying to hire a hit man.
Court documents filed on Michael’s behalf read in part:
"She did not love the Plaintiff, and only married him to unlawfully obtain his property. She knew she wanted the Plaintiff dead, and her representations of love and devotion were false at the time they were made, and were made to induce the Plaintiff to marry her. The sole purpose for the marriage was to convert all of his property to her own use."
Dalia cannot go near the townhouse. She is on house arrest at her mom’s and is wearing a GPS monitoring device.
Jason Brodie says Michael reaction is that "He's still surprised by the whole thing so I don't know if anything can surprise him now."
