Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.
You've been "getting ready" for two years.
She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.
Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.
I'm talking about bumping into an ex you had a serious relationship with (assuming it wasn't that bad of a break-up). I especially don't like it when I see her with a guy. Do you just try to avoid them and look away or do you go chat?
"I just moved here from Florida."
That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?
She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."
She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.
I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.
Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.
"How I Made Sure No Woman Ever Friend-Zoned Me Again"
She calls you when her car breaks down. When she needs help moving. When some guy she's actually dating treats her badly.
You're the listener. The reliable one. The guy who would treat her so much better, if she'd just open her eyes.
She won't. You trained her to see you as the low-effort option — the friend who requires zero risk and zero investment. Every favor dug the hole deeper.
The "22 Rules" break the pattern. You'll stop auditioning for a role she already cast and become the man she chases instead. It starts with Rule 1.
Just pull her into the nearest corner and get at it with her.
One thing about women. Once you have been there. YOU CAN ALWAYS GO BACK. No matter what, no matter why you broke up.
Women would rather resort to an old fling than add another notch on the bed post.
I have had ex's give me the booty call even though they knew I was dating someone else. I have had ex's give me the booty call because her new boyfriend was terrible in bed.
The best part about ex sex is this: It is usually NSA. She kows the relationship won't work (you have already tried that) She is just in it for the sex, usually they are less reserved in bed too at this point.
I always smile and say hello if she wants to talk then ill talk I don’t want to try avoid her it makes me look weak and isn’t that the last thing we want to show in front of females??
I've only had this situation twice, though the relationship wasn't seriously like the OP said his was. I just said hi to her as we walked past and didn't feel weird about it at all.
It was funny - the first time I saw her after breaking up I didn't realize it was her and was checking her out.
But there were 2 times I was really mean because they both were jerks.
#1 Saw the guy in the bar with a "new" girl he was dating for a month. So I walked over to him and told him I had a great time last week and that we should go out again. His girl got pissed because she thought he was with me the week before. Pretty much ruined his night
#2 I went out on a few dates with this one guy (we weren't hooking up), come to find out he has a girlfriend. One night I see his roomate at a party and go home with him (the roomate had no idea we went on a few dates). I spent the night, no sex, but the guy was all flustered when I came strolling out of his roomates bed room and he was there with his girlfriend in the morning
Originally posted by GodsGiftToWomen I'm going to see the fireworks with my recent X tonight. Haven't seen her since the break up so I don't know what to expect. One thing is for sure though we aren't getting back together for a loooong time if ever...
Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."
You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.
She's been waiting forty minutes.
Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.
My ex saw me in the office cafeteria today with a bunch of coworkers. I've been working there for a month without her knowing. I thought I saw someone that looked like her but I was shrugged it off since I was much more interested in the people I was with at the time.
I get back to my desk and I have an email from her asking why I hadn't told her that I was working there and asked for my address and telephone number. I just told her that I was surprised that she would care since we broke up about a year ago.
Anyway, fun times ahead. We'll see how many buttons I can push by not giving her any attention.
