Is this post about economy or physics? The physics are a lot more interesting imo...
LHC is a step in the right direction. Kind of like Ptolemaic Epicycles, we're creating new technology to test mathematical theories created before they could be properly tested.
As far as the banks, safe to say the execs instructing the "back-room mathematicians" made these bull**** theories not because they thought they were true and accurate representations of the world, but because they thought they could get rich off them.
Interesting video none the less.
