All that pook did was put it into way to long of a group of stories with excessive use of adjectives.
I dont want this to be misconstrued so I'll add this disclaimer. I have no problem with pook's lack of concision. I think it is important that he wrote all that he did, and in the detail that he did.

My main point of contention, which I think I failed to convey. Is that Pook is telling the great stories. His message seems to be lost on people who hope to find an answer. While original because he described his experience, these stories are universal as many men have traveled the same path. This sense of the universal struggle of the modern male is why I believe that the underlying message of all of pooks posts (or those in the bible from other contributors) is not new, or profound.

I didn't grow up in the internet generation, nor was I an early adapter, so my life experience was unique (or not for anyone over 25) in that I couldn't transmit my problems or read about others struggles in real time. I had to base my life around what I knew at the time which still was a pretty fast paced existence. For the most part I appreciate the fact that I didn't have faceless opinions on how I should live life, or what move I should make. The lack of options (and retarded terms like AFC) made me come into my own by my own.

Much of what pook has written is in the same vain. He isn't one to conform (although following him like everyone else on this site is conforming), he isn't one to secede from the life he wants, and he isn't one to allow external sources to define himself. I'll revisit what I mentioned previously by repeating the question; what is the difference between idolizing pook or idolizing a woman?

Live your life in such a way that you can idolize yourself. Not in a ****y way, but rather a confident self assured way. When you come to the point where you have your own ideology and purpose you can then question the principles that brought you to that point. This is the fundamental inspiration to pooks posts, or any other posts that people have changed their life because of. Ironically, the message is lost on those that want the quick fix, or have the cultish, mentality.

There is no need for "the next pook". There are at least a dozen posters on this site that have messages that are at the least as important as the first coming of the pook. A few have already posted on this thread, the others are obvious if you know what your looking for.

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

Thanks to everyone for their interest. I have PM'd everyone who was interested (which does not necessarily include everyone who posted in this thread).

The initial interest for responding to the offer ends tomorrow (July 15). You may write your article by July 20. On July 21, there will be a vote-off for the best article, and on July 22, the author of that article will be awarded $50.

Finding the next "Pook" is like finding the next "Beatles". It's not going to happen no matter how much money you pay. However, it's interesting how you're using Pook's name to promote your site. That's like sticking the name "Harry Potter" on a 5hitty lunch box just to make money based on the popularity of the character.
I don't know much about lunch boxes or Harry Potter, but I think you have a good point.
