"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.

So one of my girlfriends told me I come across as "weird" the other day. Now, I normally don't put a lot of stock in what girls say about me, but this girl has it together, and she wouldn't say that for no reason. In addition, I'm not getting the results I'm looking for in the club scene. The approach is no problem for me. Style? I've got it. Good looks? Good enough, I think. Nothing spectacular, but I'm not ugly either. I think I come accross to strong sometimes. Since I don't have any problems saying whatever craziness comes to mind at the moment, I think some girls get weirded out by me from the beginning. I'm interesting, but different. For example, at a bar last night, I told a girl I have two wives, one which has a peg leg. The other one has 5 of my kids, and no, I don't give any child support. It was a spontaneous thing, and it didn't get me the results I was looking for. I actually had to explain to the chick I wasn't being serious. By that time, the situation was declining, so I moved on to another set.
Problem is this: this happens to me more than I would like. I guess I need to be "more normal", but what the f*ck does that mean. Anyone else ever had this situation? Thanks for the feedback!

"Why Women Dump the Guys Who Try the Hardest"

You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.

And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.

Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.

The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.

That kind of humour appeals to a narrow range of people. The added problem is if they don't know you well, it makes them not know how to take you - and that makes people uncomfortable in itself. Being able to make chicks laugh is great - but being goofy or acting a clown (e.g. doing the caterpillar on the dancefloor) is not going to get them wet for you. You can make them smile by busting on them or teasing them. Try doing that more instead of cracking wacky jokes.

that makes good sense..i'd like to hear more though...talk more about how ppl "don't quite know how to take you"....that makes a lot of sense...Lauren (my friend) actually said the exact same thing...she said "ppl don't know what to make of you when they first see you. They think you're crazy or weird. It wasn't until I really got to know you that...." and so on. This is a BIG problem for me because when I'm out meeting new ppl, I don't have the time (nor do I want to put in the time) to let ppl "really get to know me". I say this b/ I'm not even sure if I really want to get to know them...that's my focus...I think maybe I should place more emphasis on their perspective...interesting...thanks...keep it coming
