UPDATE2:
I logged on to this forum after a hiatus and remembered this thread.
Just for ****s and giggles (and because I like to write):
After the UPDATE above, she suddenly stopped talking to me again. After that, I was like "I'm so done" and just completely avoided her and went about my business.
Months went by, and she completely disappeared by the time Spring rolled around. Then one July evening I was out surfing pretty much by myself. I usually surf in the mornings, but it was a nice evening. I'm floating out there, and then I notice a girl walking towards me on the beach. She gets on her board and paddles straight towards me. I'm like, "It's her. WTF??"
She came right up to me and started talking like we've always known each other. Pretty much told me her life story and would ask me all these personal questions. But at the same time she was constantly mentioning her boyfriend. Apparently a lot had happened in her life. She was living with this dude now in a nearby, kinda famous surf town. She also found a new job in this town and was telling me about her plans to get a Sprinter van and live near the beach (rent is SUPER expensive there). This went on for like an hour, and it was getting dark as we floated out there. Then she sort of snapped out of it and abruptly said, "I gotta go" and paddled back to shore. As she left, I swear I could tell that she looked sad. I saw her one more time as she drove by, and she waved at me. Haven't seen her since.
Is that all weird, or what? I'm guessing this boyfriend is the reason why she was so in and out. And he also lives in a cool surf town and works in the surfing industry. Perfect opportunity for her....
