"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.

Note: I'd like responses from people who have EXPERIENCE with this type of a situation, thanks.

Basically, the other day in class I'm just sitting there, and the girl to my right, keeps glancing over at me.

There's also some other girl holding a conversation to my left, so it could be that she was looking at that girl. But she keeps looking at me A LOT. I mean, it's like every few seconds she just looks over and when I move my head she looks away.

I never really could make eye contact with her because she kept looking away.

So anyway then we have a group activity and she's in my group. And I start talking and made some brief eye contact with her. For the most part, she seems really standoff-ish. The other girls in the group are cool talking/listening to me. But that girl has her legs crossed away from me and just has her whole body directed away from me.

Yet, while in this position, she plays with her necklace and looks upward like she's intently thinking of something other than the group activity.

She just seemed really put off by me once we were in the group together.

How do you go about approaching a girl like that? She seemed to be literally staring at me every chance she got, but then once we got closer she seemed so distant...

"Why Women Dump the Guys Who Try the Hardest"

You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.

And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.

Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.

The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.

And I have another 'weird body language' question....

What do you do when you're standing in line somewhere, and the girl that's next in line to you stands extremely close to you? I mean so close that if you turned around quickly you might actually hurt her face or something. She's literally leaning into you.

But there isn't eye contact. Do you step away and try to make eye contact? I tried that, but it seemed like she was glued to me until I went up to the register, and then there was finally maybe 2 feet between us.

I get these really weird situations a lot. Especially in stores and stuff, girls get in my personal space where it's actually awkward to make that first eye contact.

Any suggestions would be helpful, thanks.

I'm pretty sure you already know what was going on in both of those situations. The first situation seems like she might be attracted, but intimidated. Blatantly ignoring you like that in a group situation that doesn't warrant it, is probably indicative of attraction. As far as the second case, close proximity like that is a pretty good indicator of attraction as well. Do you think a girl would want to be that close to a guy she's repulsed by? Like I said I'm pretty sure you know you're supposed to approach, so just do it.

Well of course I know what's going on.

My point in making the thread was to ask how do I go about approaching? In other words, I'm sure the girl may have been intimidated in the first situation, but how do I approach without intimidating her more?

And in the second situation, do I just say "hi" or what?

Thanks again.
