"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

Hey,

I've finished studying for the moment so I've freed up time during the weeknights. Mostly I am just hitting the gym and don't really have much else to do. I occasionally go to bars/pubs but try and stay away from it as most weekends I'm hitting bars/clubs/pubs Friday and Saturday night.

So what sort of things do you guys get up to during your weeknights?

Cheers,

df

P.S I'm a 9 - 5'er during the week!

"How I Made Sure No Woman Ever Friend-Zoned Me Again"

She calls you when her car breaks down. When she needs help moving. When some guy she's actually dating treats her badly.

You're the listener. The reliable one. The guy who would treat her so much better, if she'd just open her eyes.

She won't. You trained her to see you as the low-effort option — the friend who requires zero risk and zero investment. Every favor dug the hole deeper.

The "22 Rules" break the pattern. You'll stop auditioning for a role she already cast and become the man she chases instead. It starts with Rule 1.

I have to clean my Berettas tonight. I went trap shooting this weekend, and hit up the pistol range, so my babies need a little TLC. Had an e-mail this morning from one of the gals...
"Really had a good time yesterday but my frickin arm/shoulders are
killing me! Its all good though I really had fun. I hope we all go out again I
love your gun its awesome! I am going to take hunter safety course though so I don't scare anybody!! Then save up for my own gun."
:p ...I went Saturday AND Sunday - different people! Nyuk, nyuk, nyUK!
Probably do some laundry tonight, too.

Tomorrow I'll be wrecked (long weekend), so I'll probably turn off the phone and crash super early. Wednesday, chicky is coming over to spend the night, Thursday... uh... probably pack for camping this weekend. Donno... maybe dude will drag me out somewhere.

Must be nice... having time that needs filling: I never have enough time for everything.

:nervous:

Oh wait... that's the goal!;)

Man...

I go home and watch TV during the week. The Gates 360 Box is a blessing along with the other vintage game systems I own.

The only problem is I tend to crack open the Cognac on the weeknights.

I have a part-time job that takes up all my Saturday mornings & afternoons. The evenings I'm game..

Sunday, I'm recovering and vegging only to be tired as hell on Monday..rinse..and repeat.

Somewhere I find time to add laundry. I'm trying to add a female or two, but as you can see my time is difficult. I can barely play the gaming systems I got..

Vulpine,
Help me understand how not having too much time to fill is the goal? I barely have time for myself...

Hmm...

My TV has been known to stay off for a month at a time. In fact, the only time it gets turned on is to watch a movie with a chick.

And, click on the little "X" in my sig... I only hit that on the weekends.

The 360 Xbox is a blessing? A "blessing"? Consider "I'm trying to add a female or two", then reconsider "blessing".

The difference is lifestyle, I suppose. I sit on my butt all day at work in front of a computer. By the time I get home, turn on the iPod/stereo, workout, do some random chore, and eat, the phone is blown up with someone wanting a piece of my time, or my azz. I tend not to sit down after 5:00 until I go to bed.

Your post is kinda funny, actually.

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

Vulpine,

I'm glad you found humor in my situation. :cheer:

I was asking how not having any variety in your life besides doing the things you do after work provide any excitement to having very little time.

And if you thought that joke was funny..I once knew a man from Nantucket..:D

I go out with different people between 4-12 times a week, dude. Weeknights, weekends, days... Movies, darts, bowling, shooting, hunting, "dates", shopping/goofing around, spend the night here, spend the night there, dragged out to a bar, who the fux knows...

I'm all over the place, that's "what I do after work to provide excitement and variety in my free time".

What's funny is that I'm this busy... and I can't drive for another year yet.

I find it HILARIOUS that people who are free to go wherever they please, whenever they please, to do whatever they want... choose instead to sit on their butts in front of the TV.

I guess I misunderstood your situation, I thought you filled your time with TV and video games and were complaining that you didn't have enough time for other things. Or, is that your priority and I still don't understand your grievance?

Vulpine,

I was saying I get off of the 9 to 5 and try to pre occupy my time.

I mean hanging out in bars for Happy Hour, doesn't exactly help my "slight" grinking problem. Plus it's expensive.

But after discussing this yesterday I came home and straightened up my apartment.

So you're right, there's always something for me to do when I get off work. Especially, in the pad.
