Some chick I've been talking to recently told me I had a "weakness of character." She wouldn't explain what the hell she meant and I don't see what I did to deserve this comment. But what does a "weakness of character" actually mean? What was she trying to imply?

A weakness of character could mean anything. In what context was it said? You should have told her to shut her beak either way.

In hindsight, yeah, I should have said something like that, but I didn't understand what she was implying. She didn't say it in like areally mean way or anything, but I just couldn't figure out why she was saying that. I knew that term meant something negative but I couldn't figure it out.

For me to say "you have a weakness of character" out of the blue, is the same as saying "theres gold in them there hills". It begs the obvious question "...where?".

What were you talking about at the time? Did you express an opinion about something that she didnt agree with? Again, "shut you're beak woman!"

We were talking about school and finsihing up and all, and I talked about how I had gone by to talk to some of my teachers about my grades. She said something about me having "weakness of character" and that people like teachers and I guess others in power like that would not respect me for this. She's someone I'm hoping to date (or was) so now I'm not sure after that comment.

I think you're right about the "shut your beak" response though.

Never underestimate the power of "shut your beak". It is funny, insulting, disarming and totally unexpected.

Im not sure she understands the term "weakness of character" either, by what you are saying here. Talking to your teachers about your grades is quite a normal thing to do.

Ironicaly, her using this phrase to put you down in some way, for doing something completley normal, shows "weakness of character".

Go figure

You are weak if you do not stand up to your values, if you tolerate someone abusing you, if you do not have perseverance to endure under difficult circumstances, if you cannot face up to adversity, if you are not honest, if you do not have self control, ...

By going to your teachers to obtain some answers regarding your grading, you are on the contrary demonstrating that you are strong, that you will stand up to your rights, that you demand answers to unfair grading. It keeps the teachers on their toes and they will know that you have zero tolerance for unfair grading.

Continue to demonstrate your strenght of character young man.
