Question for you all..

Is there any room for getting "sad" or "depressed" in life? When we feel sad, should we slap ourselves in the face and instead force ourselves to get angry?

I was thinking about this today. I was feeling down about my life. I was feeling like a victim. But I stopped myself and instead turned my emotion into anger, and I started feeling better. I guess the trick is to balance compassion and anger so we don't run around like maniacs.

What do you guys think?

If you're a true alpha guy you shouldn't get depressed OR angry. Anger is only preferable to depression if you use it for motivation and it leads you to positive action. Otherwise, it's letting your emotions get the better of you, which is feminine, not masculine.

That said, everyone feels down now and then, there's probably no way to avoid it. Sometimes you can snap yourself out of it, sometimes not. The key thing is to not give in to negative thinking, even if you are feeling a little down. When this happens, I tend to just say "my bio-rhythms are down". Don't start thinking you're a victim or give in to self pity. Stay positive in your thoughts while giving yourself permission to feel down in your body and chances are it will pass sooner rather than later.
