Why "Whatever You Want" Keeps You Single

She says the movie looks dumb; you suddenly agree. She tests you with a little attitude; you apologize for nothing.

You think you're being easy to get along with. She reads something else entirely: a man with no edges. Nothing to hold on to. No friction, no tension, no reason to wonder what he really thinks.

The "22 Rules" taught me to push back — playfully, calmly, without needing her approval. Strange things happened after that.

Peace is a lie, there is only passion.

Through passion, I gain strength.

Through strength, I gain power.

Through power, I gain victory.

Through victory, my chains are broken.....

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

That's not the warrior code, that's the Sith code.

Stop playing Kights of the Old Republic and go meet a new woman tonight.

What the hell do yo know about the warrior code?

Ever been in battle? No? So how the hell do you know then?

You don't. Don't pretend you do.

And how do you know? Are you a veteran?

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

I live by that code, 100%, even if it's intended for fictional story or race.

Take it or leave it. All I know is when I'm sturggling with something I read this, & it helps me keep going. Thought it may help you guys, with whatever it is you wish to achieve.

When you're taking and applying advice from a video game based on Star Wars, you KNOW there's something wrong with your life.

You need help man.

Wow that was stupid. What "warrior code" are you talking about? The marines? Army? or the freaking samurai? There is no universal "code" since it changes during every time period. If you took from a star wars game, you should be shot in the face... TWICE. :trouble:

The wording changes, but many of the ideals remain the same.

I do agree that living one's life according to something found in a Star Wars game (it's not even canon!) is pretty ridiculous, though.

Why ?

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

Because George Lucas said everything that isn't in the movies isn't canon, plain and simple.

Wait, you don't mean that I should explain why basing your life on movies and video games is laughable, do you?

I don't care what George Lucas says, nor do I care where the quote comes from. I like it & apply it.

Do you agree/disagree that passion & emotions change the way we think/act/do ?

I agree that they do; I disagree that they should be the leading factor in one's life. Passion is important, but you shouldn't make impulsive decisions based solely on that. If you randomly decide you don't like your car, do you just go and steal another new one and forget about the first one? If you decide you don't like your house/apartment, do you just leave and kick in the door of a nicer one?

If not, you're not applying the code you hold so dear.

Glad someone can get past the Star Wars barrier & discuss this.

I disagree that passion shouldn't play the leading part in our lifes. There are many other things that we should consider before making instinctual decisions of course, rather than running around like a mindless animal. But we should listen to our instincts first & foremost IMO, as they are usually right. And if we they are wrong... good, we learn from it.

If you have no passion, you have very little IMO.

There's a HUGE difference between having passion, considering what your intuition tells you, and living your life based on passion.

You need passion in life, true. Passion for your job (hopefully), for your hobbies, whatever. You need to follow your "gut feeling" because for most people, it's generally right. However, your logical mind should always be firmly in charge. Passion and gut instinct are tools, information to be used, nothing more.

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

I agree with this. This 'code' (or any litrature) can be interpreted many ways so not everyone will be on the same wave length with me.

This is the priorties to me:
1. What is my passion ? What do I want ?
2. How can I achieve this ?
3. Plan
4. Act on your plan, passionatly.

What I'm trying to say is nothing special, you'll find a thousand post on this board with the same message, mine is just presented differently.
