wanting to hook up with an old high school friend

Hey guys,
I am a long time lurker first time poster hoping to get some input here.

Its been like 5 years since highschool, but back in hs i had the biggest crush on a good friend of mine. Problem was i was a wuss back in hs, i was shy, not the alpha at all and never really asked her out.

Anyways, long time past, i am now much more confident, much more outgoing and generally better in every aspect. I have a succesful career and recently bumped into her on my way home from work. I offered to drive her home as she lives in my neighbourgood and was catching the bus.

I got her phone number but didnt really txt her much afterwards to not seem too needy/desperate.

She was with a guy previoysly but recently broke ut off si she is now single i am thinking if txting her to catchup for coffee afterwork in a few days time but i dont what to do when i see her.

I just want to play it cool and use some kino and light flirting to see how she reacts then maybe ask her if she wants to hook up... another idea was just to ask her straight up if she wants to be friends with benefits...
What do u guys think ? Sry for the long post....

Okay so obviously you don't want to end up being friendzoned and being a 'good friend' again.

My course of action would be

1. CALL her to organise a coffee date after work soon. Importantly, I would make sure she is clear that you are taking her on a date with romantic/sexual intent rather than two old friends catching up. If you try and make a move when she thought you guys were just friends catching up it is less likely to be successful.

2. Don't ask her if she want to hook up or become friends with benefits. It's a bit tacky. The combination of her being friends and only friends with you in HS and the fact that you look a bit sleazy/cheap just wanting a easy root on a first date means it is highly likely that she will say no.

3a. On the coffee date, establish kino and kiss close her and try to kiss her.

3b. If you want to pursue the 'friends with benefits' situation. On the coffee date, establish kino, kiss close and escalate further sexually.


Personally, I would go with 3a. This is my advice and the decision is really yours and you can use your judgement, knowledge of the relationship dynamics and my advice to make a decision.

I am interested in how this goes so PLEASE post with what you end up doing and how it works for you.
