Want to avoid getting fake #'s from girls?

This is a little trick I taught a younger guy I know who had been shafted by a few girls recently by being given fake numbers.

First off, if she wants to give you her # on a piece of paper, don't let her. It is WAY too easy for her to give a fake by going this route. Tell her you tend to lose things a lot & instead ask her if you can just exchange cell #'s. Notice I said cell # not home # & I'll explain why later. Give her your cell # first & then when she programs it in, ask for hers. Program her # into your phone & then maybe 5-10 seconds later CALL the # she just gave you. If her phone buzzes, then you know for sure you have her #. She might then give you a strange look & ask "Why'd you just call me when I'm standing right here?" That's when you say something like "Oh I just got this phone & am still learning how to use it, I accidentally hit the wrong button & called you." Laugh a bit so it seems more believeable.

Slick huh?

Don't let her give you her home # b/c you have no way to "validate" that it's a real number since the above-mentioned tactic won't work.

One more point, if you use this test & find that you've been given a fake # anyway, don't waste any more of your precious time on her & just move on.

I don't know, but I'd assume most girls would see through that particular excuse, it could make you look insecure?

Wouldn't it be better to either

1) get your number programmed into her phone, then tell her to call you so you have her number as well.
2) vice versa, call her if she's programmed her number into yours.

I can't see any girl having a problem with that if they wanted you to have their phone number.

I mean, if they've given you a fake number and you decided to 'accidentally' call her and it wasn't her real number, are you going to confront her with "Hey I just called you on the number you gave me 10 seconds ago and it's a fake!". It could just be me, but it makes you look either really needy or desperate.

Well, anytime I've used the technique, I've never been busted, but I'm pretty slick. I shoulda said when you call, press the send button while looking like you're fumbling with your phone & definitely don't put it up to your ear or you will be busted.

If they have your # there's no telling if they'll call not, if they do then that's great.

Haha...if you use this trick & find that she gave you a fake, don't confront her, just bug out.

It just avoids you being given a fake cell.

I'd have to say tricks do work, I used to be one hell of a manipulator way back in the day, but being shady isn't everyone's style.

Don't think is reall necessary, just get her number into your cell, call it immediately. Before she can say anything about it, say "Now you got mine. Your phone just went up in value " or something like that.

the problem with that tactic is that you EXCHANGED numbers. you should just ask for hers and call it so that "she has your number" or even better, take her phone from her and put your number in and call your phone. problem solved
