How do I improve my virility?

I've come up short a few times when I go to have sex with my girlfriend. I'll get an erection but it isn't "rock solid" and neither I or my girlfriend can manage to get it in. I was just wanting some pointers on what I'm doing wrong...is it nerves that are effecting the hardness of my penis?

What do I need to do? Are there positions where I could maybe get it in with being semi hard?
