well, first things first. what was that "tell-her-to-call-to-make-sure-i-made-it-home" thing?! i think you shouldn't have told her that cuz that would definitely make her think that you're trying to get her jealous. really. unless m in a life-threatening situation, i'll NEVER tell the girl to call me to make sure i get home. that should be something automatic for her! considering that you've already showed to her that the 'friend' ud bring was a potential threat to what or how she feels for you.
yeah, calling her and saying you have doubts between the both of you really should be your first step but personally, my thing would be doing that AFTER she saw my/your friend as a threat.
dont banish the option of NEXTing her.
