That's because dogs are more like humans.
I know some dogs if something happened to their owner they would contemplate suicide over it. They care about you. I'll take an AFC pet any day over a ruthless killer.
Cats, as stated earlier don't give a shiit about anybody.
When they rub up against you they don't do that because they like you. They do it for their own self-gratification. A form of cat masturbation.
I read on another message board about this guy out in the country who fires a rifle at cats when they come into his yard. I forget what type of gun he said he used, but he needed a shop-vac to clean up the mess.
Most cats get all the food they need from their owners. I challenge anyone to name an animal that kills for the fun of it like a cat. Most of the time they don't eat what they kill unless their feral.
How many dogs have attacked and killed people unprovoked?
How many cats have done the same?
And cats don't "kill for fun" they do so to keep their hunting skills intact in case they someday have to fend for themselves, even though they may be currently getting fed on a regular basis.
My cat would eat everything it killed when I lived in the country, even though he had plenty of food.
I'm in more of an urban setting now and my cat still goes outside, but hasn't caught or killed anything because there aren't any field mice around here.
