Understanding Eye Contact

How the hell does one use eye contact as an IOI?

I catch women staring at me, but when I look back at them, they just keep staring. When they do break eye contact, its never the down away type, its always straight to the side. But its normally quite lengthy, 2-3 seconds more often then not. Like they are trying to intimidate me.

Sometimes when I spot a bird at a distance, she catches me looking. Again, they stare at me like a deer in headlights, but then straight to the side, or sometimes down. Again, hard stare.

Now my macking skills are not bad. Got no problems aproaching women. Just hoping to better understand interest level without them flashing a smile or that quick look away like when you just caught them eyeing you out and they know it.

What are your thoughts

One thing that rarely gets mentioned about eye contact is that direct eye contact is central most mammals attack postures in the wild. Stare at your dog or cat for a prolonged period and they'll cower or disengage you at some point. Police use direct eye contact as a base for a command presence stance when dealing with people.

So understand that if you make direct eye contact with a girl, at some point you will have to make an approach or run the risk of her disengaging.

I've practiced the 'Triangle' with women since I learned it about 2 years ago and it works very well (too well for my being married I might add). This is the cycling of your eyes focus from one eye to the next then down to her lips and then back to the original eye. This is a subcommunication that women covertly pick up on and gives the perception that you're studying them while she's speaking. Works wonders for rapport.

studies actually show that prolonged eye contact between a male and female subject (2 minutes in the study) leads to attraction and rapport.

but yeah, triangular gazing is very powerful as well.

The triangle I was thinking of is about 2 feet down from her eyes:cheer: !LOL!
