You were commanding us to do something. "LOL stop talking about sports". That is a direct command, not an observation. Perhaps the second thing you said was in fact an observation, but it most certainly wasn't a positive one. "It's incredible how you guys go on tangents (can it even be used like this? or just slang?)". Incredible as in you thought it was stupid / bad etc.
