"The Kiss of Death Mistake"

You replay the conversation at 2 a.m. She texted back fast yesterday. Today, nothing. Was that smile friendly or flirty? What did the shoulder touch mean?

Every hour you spend decoding her signals drains your confidence and hands her the controls. Women can sense that insecurity from across the room — and it repels them.

One of the "22 Rules" kills the obsession on the spot: assume she likes you, and act accordingly. Sounds too simple. Works anyway.

Her interest tends to rise to meet your expectations. Psychologists call it a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Ok so ive been with my G/F for about 2 months now but, earlier this month i kinda gave her some time off didnt talk to her for like a week.

So last week on sunday she call's me but im busy playing Xbox Live  an i ignore her, so she call's me two more times i was still playin. Ok so she sends me a text saying "i think i need a break"... im like whatever.

Then she ignores me for 2 days an on the 3rd day comes up to me "we work at the same place doh" an say's im not mad at you if that's what you were thinking?

Im thinking in my head this ***** isnt gonna play the same game as me an win at it so i ignore her, then she sits down behind me till i clock out an as im about to leave i say "you wanted a break you got one" then walk off. We dont talk for the rest of the week Wed/thurs/fri she call's me but i dont answer.

Then im sittin at home playin Xbox just got off work an sumbody knocks on the door, im in the middle of killin sumbody so i dont answer too quick but when i do guess who it is? Omg wtf this ***** just showed up at my house no call or anything i let her in sit down an continue what i was doing she trys to stop me hugging me an kissing me.

I was thinking of breaking up with her she's in my face all the dam time always wants to talk, and or be around me:crazy:

"Why Women Dump the Guys Who Try the Hardest"

You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.

And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.

Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.

The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.

This is a great fvcking post. Its a real life example to all those AFC's who think that standing up to his girlfriend and being a challenge is going to get him dumped.

Not seeing the point of all this.

She's your girlfriend correct? So you then decided to stop talking to her for a week. She naturally starts to wonder wtf? She calls, you ignore her some more, so she says to herself "ok, i can play this game too". She tells you you both need a break. She finally caves in and wants to stay together after some more time has passed. Thats the jist of it right?

Ok, again, whats the point of playing these games? So you can have some girl, WHO IS YOUR GIRLFRIEND and WHO YOU SUPPOSEDLY WANT TO BE WITH, groveling at your feet? Sounds like an ego trip to me on you part. Me? I'm too old for these kinds of games. If I have a girlfriend, it's for a reason. Because I enjoy being with her. If I don't? We break up.

Just seems like a lot of time, effort, and drama that you don't need to do or go through. Sounds like something you would do in high school.

Again, what's the point?

It takes just a little bit of experience to see the point. He just did not flat out say what the point was. I'll tell you the lesson his post is teaching:

It is related to power dynamics in relationships. Initially, SikWitIt did not talk much with his g/f for a week. The g/f thinks: "wtf, I'm used to AFC's who talk to me every waking minute of the day, trying to get my attention and approval. What the hell is going on? Why is he being so challenging?"

Now begins the female mind games. Whether she realizes it or not is not the important point here. It is that she IS playing a game. She tells him she needs a break. Why? Again, she is used to AFC's who will cry when she says that and come running to her like a puppy to get approval.

The point is, he didn't do that. So she sees him as even more of a challenge and is now attracted to him more than ever. She knows she can lose him, unlike an AFC who will stick by her and throw his dignity away any time she says "I need a break".

Oh c'mon.

If I had a girlfriend and she didn't talk to me for a week I'd be wondering wtf to. Any rationale person would. I'm assuming the two were in a normal, functional, mature relationship, or at least she thought she was.

I think if my girlfriend ignored me for a week, I called her and she didn't pick up or call back, I'd be telling her we need a break as well.

I swear some of you take this game playing to levels that are way beyond constructive. Just creating unneccesary drama for yourself. If that's what makes you happy, knock yourself out.

BTW, I'm 31, probably had sex with 50 women, had numerous LTR's. I'm on this board to offer advice, not to receive it. Though anyone can learn something new everyday.

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

You guy's are taking it all wrong that's not what im trying to say.

What im trying to say is she want's to be around me 24/7 i got tired of it so i took a little break. She got mad at me one day because i was playing a videogame an not paying attention to her, so to get back at me she said she needed a break an ignored me.

But it back fired on her an she came running back to me :D

So im not saying it's afc to talk to your girlfriend everyday or be around her
( even though i may think it is) but it is afc to chase after her when she try's to play game's with you. Because im the ****in :cuss: game master here baby been playing since i was 4 years old second place is dead last.

I like alone time every once an awhile is that ok?

Not my g/f sitting next to me all the dam time saying "why do you play this game all the time?" or "What does that button do?" "What does noob mean?"

OK, I've been in this same situation before, had a LTR who was insecure when she wasn't around me so she would call all the time and when she was around visiting she would want it to be "Quality time". It annoyed me just like it has you that I couldn't have some alone time without being interupted.

However I went about things differently and ended up with a great result. First we talked about the constant calling and how it made me feel. We set up some rules like not calling after 8pm or before 10am and she was only allowed to call 3 time per week unless it was important and she followed them to the letter.

Secondly, when I was playing a game, I gave her something fun to do also, usually it was to try and get me to lose my focus on the game by seducing me :D a win-win situation :D Nothing like playing a game while recieving a BJ.

Finally, when I needed to have some time by myself or hanging out with my friends I would tell her about it and let her know that I would call her the next night to tell her what I got up to. That guaranteed me a peaceful night and she knew what was going on and didn't feel like she was being abandoned.

Seriously, talking to your gf's and telling them what is going on can solve a lot of problems in your relationship. I have lost count of the times I have saved peoples relationships by getting them to talk about things they keep bottled up inside and their partners had no idea it was a problem or that making a simple change can bring so much relief.

The only thing i got from the OP's post is that i have an urge to go play Xbox right now.

As for the gf thing, its nothing new. GF was wondering and scared you were gonna break up with her since you didn't talk to her for a week so she launched a pre-ememptive strike (most likely as a result of friendly advice). When it didn't work, she surrendered.

Nothing new but good for chronic AFC's i guess.
