I think he's saying that the fact that you have to rely on tactics and lines from the "pros" is pathetic. Personally, I feel that those are fine when you're first learning how to be a DJ, but beyond that they are dumb. You can't use them as a crutch, which seems like what you're doing. In your first situation, you went in there planning out what to say, and when things took an unexpected turn, you ran out of things to say and began making excuses (she was going to a different part of the school than you). NEVER MAKE UP EXCUSES FOR WHY YOU DIDN'T GET A GIRL. You only hurt yourself when you do that. I've done that plenty of times in the past and I was only kidding myself. It was really just me that couldn't get the girl.
So basically, it's a lot easier, and feels a lot more REAL when you just go up to a girl and talk to her with your own words. It's a waste of time and energy if you keep trying to think of what lines and tricks to say and do, and one day you'll find that you've run out of them and won't know what to do because you've used them as a crutch for so long.
And BTW, just because someone doesn't write and "field reports" doesn't mean they can't get women. Just the other night I was at a party and worked just about every girl there. Asked for 3 girls' numbers, got 3 girls' numbers. Almost hooked up with one, but I got c*ckblocked by my drunk friend. Actually, you know what, if I had acted faster I could've hooked up with the girl, but I was taking my time. I learned a lesson for next time. Act quick because you never know when something can come up, spoiling your chances. Anyways, I generally choose not to do field reports because I see them as a waste of time. FRs serve two purposes: providing "inspiration" to others, and bragging rights to the author. And seeing as how I don't use lines (much less remember what I say to the girls), FRs from me wouldn't do much in the way of providing inspiration, other than showing that lines and tricks aren't necessary. I simply talk to the girls, show them I'm a fun, laidback guy, and apply kino. Easy.
And thanks 08aissac, I completely agree.
