I'm going in Turkey for six weeks in a few months, mostly for back country hiking, but I will visit Istanbul and Cappadocia. Any experiences to share, or know what I should expect?

The majority of Turkish citizens aren't Turkish, they're Kurdish. Learn some Kurdish and you'll make friends faster.

Don't expect the parties of your life when you go to a conservative Muslim state. Not saying you can't have fun....but remember where you are.
