Why "Whatever You Want" Keeps You Single

She says the movie looks dumb; you suddenly agree. She tests you with a little attitude; you apologize for nothing.

You think you're being easy to get along with. She reads something else entirely: a man with no edges. Nothing to hold on to. No friction, no tension, no reason to wonder what he really thinks.

The "22 Rules" taught me to push back — playfully, calmly, without needing her approval. Strange things happened after that.

What's the best way to punch someone who is a lot taller than you?

I found this youtube clip of a boxer knocking out an MMA fighter

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eUx9OE7DZAo

I just can't tell if he threw a straight right or an overhand right. WHen I practice throwing a straight right (also called a right cross) it seems like it would lose a lot of volicity when throwing it upwards at someone taller.

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

My favorite amateur mma fighter that I ever helped to train was 5' 2". We taught him one thing, which was to close the distance and get his forehead up against the other guy's chin before he started punching. He chased his opponents around the cage like a pit bull and was always a crowd favorite.

People think that being taller is an advantage - that is only true at a distance. I can tell you from being 6' 2" that long arms get in the way at very close range. At the same time, when I spar with a 6'10" training partner of mine, I crouch down and try to fight like the 5' 2" fighter - close the distance, and then reach up and hit him in the stomach. :D

Judo champions are typically built like trash cans. fwiw, it's the same if you ever fight on uneven ground. Being on the uphill side makes you like a fighter with reach, and being on the downhill side makes it extra easy to land judo throws. Samurais adapted their fighting style to the terrain and environment. A judo throw does not seem that deadly, but it's different when you're fighting on the edge of a cliff.

To answer your question, you have to close the distance and punch from close range. Weight transfer is what makes a punch powerful, not the flailing of a long arm. When you throw good inside punches, your elbows should always be close to your body. Get on your toes and balls of your feet like a sprinter, then push off the ground as you punch to transfer weight. After all of that, if you want to double your power, time your punch so that your opponent is moving into it.

Slip up behind him while he's sitting down, and render him unconscious with a blackjack or crow bar. Hit him several times to be sure, even after he's down.

Real life fighting isn't some kind of fairy tale about honor. It's dirty and it's over in a few seconds. But you knew that since you want him unconscious (so you can pull down his pants, take dirty pictures, etc. ???).

"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

kick to legs/nuts, kidney, and you won't have to use your hands at all. After he's down, depending upon his positioning, use ball of foot to kick nuts, tailbone, kidney, floating ribs, base of skull, top of head, between shoulder blades, until he's neutralized. Then stomp on larnyx or kick behind the ear to see to it that he never attacks anyone, ever again.

Unless you are 220+ lbs and heavy like those guys in the videos, I wouldn't recommend trading overhand blows and straights.

Do what Bible_Belt said. Close the distance, take away his reach advantage, and then deal out ravaging hooks to the body, or to the chin.

Look at Tyson's fights as an example. The guy was only like 5.10, yet destroyed everyone with his hooks, no matter how much taller his opposition was.

Maybe being thrown off a cliff was rare, but there are always a lot of bad places to get thrown, like onto sharp rocks or at the feet of someone who would stomp on their head.

It's the same idea with wrestler takedowns and slams. They're almost meaningless in an mma match, but on pavement or rocks, the same move could easily be lethal. Wrestling, like judo, compliments a low center of gravity, which means that shorter people tend to be better at it than taller people.

"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.

Well, if its a street fight, pretty much anything goes. While you are wondering what punch to throw, he may kick you in the nuts and drop you like a rock.

Though, I believe a straight right to the chin works wonders. (lean into it and follow through)

Stay out of reach, side kick at legs. Any solid contact will break his knee, if his leg is locked out straight, like it nearly always is with untrained fighters. Then proceed to kick top of head, nuts, tailbone, jaw, kidneys, base of skull, between shoulder blade, behind the ear, floating ribs, depending upon his positioning relative to you and your desire to cause him further problems.

hairpoter thanks for that link.. I think the overhand right is the best punch to use against a taller oponent. A straight right aka right cross will lose leverage because it has to travel upwards

I definitely agree with this assesment. Mike Tyson was the quintessential example of this being about 5'10 and consistently knocking guys out over 6 feet.

However a tall skilled fighter will be hell if they have a good jab and can keep their opponents at bay. Vladimir Klitchko (current boxing heavyweight champ) and greats like Muhammad Ali display this.

so hit him in the nuts. NOBODY is that tall, you know? :) Become a trained kicker, and use the advantage of the many inches more "reach", and the surprise that kicking gives you. VERY few people are good kickers, and even fewer of them are expert blockers of kicks. For even safer kicking, especially if you have long legs, is to kick at the knee. You have to get a hair closer than the balls-kick "standoff" range, but any solid hit to the leg, within several inches of the knee, will ruin his mobility, if he's standing with legs straight, as nearly everyone does.

That was an overhand right. It is probably the most effective punch to knock out a tall guy in one punch (watch Roy Nelson use it). You can also (if the other fight is orthadox), slide to the right and throw a straight right. It's very effective, you can see Nonito Donaire use it a lot.

Ray Mercer was a beast in his day, but unfortunately, his been a brain dead, washed up figher like James Toney for decades now.

Speed and footwork also negates a taller fighters reach, this is how guys like Manny Pacquiao get by destroying taller guys without having to sit in the pocket like Tyson did. Angles will mess up anybodies balance and ability to use their reach and smaller guys generally have a lot more coordinated footwork.

"Nervous Around Beautiful Women? There's a Rule for That"

I could talk to any woman I wasn't attracted to. Charming, funny, relaxed. Then a gorgeous woman looked my way and I'd become a sweating, babbling mess.

The fix took me years to find and ten minutes to learn. Nervousness and excitement are the same physical state — pounding heart, adrenaline, flushed face. Your brain just picks the label. And you can pick a better one.

Rule 16 shows you how. You feel the nerves, relabel them as excitement, and let that energy pour out as enthusiasm. Women notice the guy radiating it. They always do.
