He has to be sitting in the Oval Office just laughing his ass off at this. His tweet, obviously trolling, has all these folks, media/civilian/NOAA alike, rushing to the table to say that colder temperatures don't mean global warming isn't happening. Then they pretend that Trump has no idea the difference in a weather pattern and climate.

I'm starting to believe that he, and I, actually have higher intellect than the rest of the people out there. Yahoo posted this: https://www.yahoo.com/news/trump-so...climatologists-government-ones-212948898.html

LOLOL. He "lost an argument"? Hahahahaha.

Now, if you want to ask why the POTUS is trolling on twitter, well that's a good question and a separate issue.

He obviously knows the answer and is trolling. Does that make him smart? Beats me.

Climate change is happening dudes. In syberia, that's in Russia and Canada, where there is permafrost, that thing melts due to warmer temperatures, and guess what, methane gas is released. Methane gas is a green house gas. This is a catastrophic runaway thing and it has scientists alarmed.

Tho, whether climate change is due to human activities, or to sun activity, or to other natural processes on our planet, is of course debatable. One thing is for certain, it is happening, sea levels are slowly but surely rising.

Well Canadian here....

According to the weather report: Canada had it's coldest Winter and it's warmest summers.

In Canada and Russia, alot of inaccessible places (90% of our territory) are starting to be accessible due to the warmer.

It's usually followed by a massive Forest fire of the Californians likes.

Yes, climate change exist.

Yes, Trump is tweeting in favor of his electorate

Climate change may be a real threat, but leftists are using it as an excuse to impose a carbon tax to subsidize vast migration from 3rd world nations into western countries. Therefore I oppose anything the left spews out regarding climate change, especially this Green New Deal bvllsh1t....

I'm sure climate change exists, but notice this. Scientists and politicians love putting a 10-20 year warning on these things. Anything more than 20 and the public can say, "fukk it, someone else will fix it." Anything less and it's panic time. Go back through the headlines of yesteryear and see how many times we've been on the eve of destruction - "eve" meaning 10-20 years from now.

Climate change has been taking place for the past 4.5 billion years. Our planet's climate is in a constant state of flux. Levels of greenhouse gases increase and then subside; glaciers disappear and grow again. If you look at the big picture, the current temperatures are about as cold as they've been in the past 500 million years. Only a complete idiot would believe that climate change is man-made.

True, but like all environmental issues, it's about saving humans. Environmentalists disingenuously nag about "saving the planet." The planet isn't going anywhere for a very long time. WE are, but it isn't.

So whether it's man made or not, if it's real and a threat, men have to solve it, if we want to stick around. Otherwise, Earth will continue revolving about the Sun, and maybe it'll just be a hotter place with a lot of human skeletons and some other life forms that continue to evolve. Our leftover plastic will be swallowed up - ashes to ashes. In several hundreds of millions of years, the sun will swallow the Earth, but no matter what, we'll be long gone - either living elsewhere or extinct.

You can't "solve" climate change but you can adapt to it. It's called evolution - adapt or die. Thanks to technology, we are much better suited to adapt to climate exchange than any other species in the past. But trying to prevent climate change from happening in the first place is an exercise in futility.

Agreed. I do believe we have some effect on it that's correctable. But I don't know enough about it to know how much of an effect it is (CO2 for instance). Of course, a meteor could smash into the planet and render it all moot.

By complete idiot, you must mean every scientist in the world, who have studied the subject most of their lives. Yeah...those idiots.

And humans have been here 2 million years, so a chart going back 540 million is not especially relevant. It makes the climate of 100 million years ago look normal, but if we had that now, it would kill off most of the humans fairly quickly. Mass extinctions are quite common in earth's history. All of the other homo species died out already, including some hybrids, too. It is not that out of the question for us to be next.

If one charts the past 2000 years of temperature, it looks like this:

The giant spike in modern history is totally coincidental with the industrial revolution...says the companies selling the fossil fuels that have done most of the damage. I trust scientists more than oil company executives.

What a load of BS. The only scientists that agree with the so-called "scientific consensus" are the ones who get research grants to study global warming. You should trust them as much as you trust oil company execs. They are all motivated by $$$. Speaking of oil company execs, why is it that they all agree with the "scientists" all of a sudden? Why did the oil companies urge Trump to remain in the Paris Accord??

Here's a hint: cap and trade is big business these days. VERY big business. So much for your infantile theory that climate change "deniers" are on the pay of the energy industry.

Not relevant? It shows that climate change will happen no matter what humans do. Even if we went to zero emissions, climate change would still occur. You can't prevent climate change.

And if you chart the last two months, you will see a drop in temperature of 30 degrees. So what? The smaller the sample size, the less reliable the data. Climate change is a product of processes that span hundreds of thousands or even millions of years.

What are the odds that a 100 million year climate swing is suddenly occurring, overlapping exactly with the last 100 years of human activity? I believe that would be a million to one shot, the odds of you being correct.

The only reason people say the earth is millions of years old is because we don't f*cking know. Just spit-balling crap. When in doubt, "millions and billions LOLOLZZZ"

The bottom line here is to innovate without being totally destructive. We SHOULD be cognizant of the environment. But we SHOULD NOT be whacko about it.

If you really want to prevent disaster, we should be handing out birth control and sterilization like candy to the dumber sects of the world, who are reproducing like grasshoppers. Or figure out a way to live on Mars so I can get away from all you mfers.

These dummies are easy targets. For Trump, getting them riled up, is like shooting fish in a barrel. No challenge.

Climate change actually means lots of wars all over and devolution, going back technologically in time, it is a catastrophe. Just picture North America under some ice sheets, Russia and Europe under ice sheets. Where the world powers are going to go? There is a belief in scientific community that reduction of carbon monoxide and other green house gasses can slow down this catastrophic process.

If you were in charge of your nation wouldn't you be concerned with this?

So it is understandable that some nations take 1 mile high ice sheets or possibility of floods highly seriously. This is no joke, it's happening.
