"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.

So there I am, sitting in my class. I'm actually very upbeat at this point, smiling and laughing because I finally had an epiphany about myself that sent me into a giggle fit (won't get into it, i'll save your boredom for later)

There's an extremely attractice girl in my class. Not only is she the most beautiful girl i've seen in ages, she has a personality that i've never encountered before... EVER. I haven't confronted her yet (to get number or date) but i've dropped glances and made little ****y remarks here and there, being my usual self. Part of me has thought she was too good to be true, so I left it alone, not talking to her.

Then I noticed this guy who I completely am annoyed by (typical bethesda kid who has no idea about the real world- yes I grew up in that whole preppy/country club atmosphere so I know these types like the back of my hand) talking to her. I WAS SO PISSED. I didn't know why I was so pissed, because I knew she was too good to be true... then I started questioning what I think about her.

Back to the upbeat day: I decided to drop my shield completely and just be goofy Michael- I was saying stupid stuff and being borderline manic at times (think Corky Romano with "You have a question? You do? You don't! You Do?).

I look over at her, and I get this vibe. I totally felt how good she was, and how smart she was... I actually felt it. She actually has a genuine smile, something i'm not used to with hot girls- always fake and hiding something. This girl is different, i've never met someone that was so on the level (except another that I ended up falling in love with, except she was a more dark-spirited version of this girl... imagine patrick bateman from american psycho except a female, yuck, you get the idea!).

I've been trained to tell what type a person someone is within three minutes of talking to them (part of one of my jobs) and this girl is totally high-toned, must be one of the happiest people in the class. This is from literally three months of being in the class, I have the psychological analysis on every person in the class, actually kind of funny for some people, I read them like books.

So I say something totally enthusiastically out of place to the professor, and he laughs because normally i'm so serious and throw his garbage right back at him. So I look with peripheral vision, and notice she's looking at me like "hey, i'm trying to get your attention, LOOK AT ME" type look, so I do, and she has a HUGE smile. I go, "That was so stupid of me." and she goes "No... that was really cute." I TOTALLY FLIP INSIDE, I wen't nuts. I acted cool and collected (I hope) but this girl is so legit it isn't even funny. For the first time I didn't question a girl's motives for saying something sincere. Usually I don't trust girls and just think they're after my money, access to things, or my friends.... but no, this was different.

I'd drop the girl i'm with in a heartbeat if this girl were to take her place. I feel "oneitis" coming on strong and I haven't even talked to her yet!! That's what next week is for... but what do you all think about all this? Was she just saying that, was she interested? Ever think a girl is too good to be true and find out you were right? Thoughts please...

"How I Made Sure No Woman Ever Friend-Zoned Me Again"

She calls you when her car breaks down. When she needs help moving. When some guy she's actually dating treats her badly.

You're the listener. The reliable one. The guy who would treat her so much better, if she'd just open her eyes.

She won't. You trained her to see you as the low-effort option — the friend who requires zero risk and zero investment. Every favor dug the hole deeper.

The "22 Rules" break the pattern. You'll stop auditioning for a role she already cast and become the man she chases instead. It starts with Rule 1.
